Gibberings CLVI: Back to the Future

Hi Shambles. <3

Cheffing hasn't changed in my absence. Not one bit. All cutting corners, cheap ingredients, doing as little and as for as little as possible to put out something that could just about be considered 'acceptable'.

Sorry I don't know how anybody is doing or anything I haven't even been lurking so excuse me asking 'how are you doing?' to everyone repeatably.

So, Shambles, how are you doing?

Hehe. I'm doing okay I think. Same old, same old but getting better at it at least. Slowly 8)

I very rarely have news of exciting developments due to the lack of exciting developments. Hopefully I might be making a move sometime this year - Bristol is the (tentative) plan. Need to make some kinda change due to that lack of exciting developments bizniz. Not looking for the exciting bit especially but development could be a boon :)

We've been talking about an EADD meet again recently. This time it looks like it might - just might - actually happen. Perhaps we should pop down for a spot of lunch along the way ;)

Mornin shambly

*waves at dan then sends him back to the naughty step*

You'd be better off popping round to my house tbh. Food is better and better value too. I cannot believe the prices they charge at my place.

Well I do hope the move goes well for you. Can be quiet a stressful thing moving house so I hear. I've only done it once but yeah it's no fun.

Wow are you serious? Once? I moved 7 or 8 times in London alone over 17 years or so. Not that I'm recommending it - I spent half my life lugging boxes of records and books around. Heavy bugger, vinyl. And most of them are knackered now.

I WONDER IF THE EXPRESSION 'THE LAND OF THE NOD' CAME DUE TO NODDING OF HEAR, 'nodding' was nicknamed for oither way roiund.

I do believe Morpheus is the God of dreams. Like when you keep pressing snooze on your alarm in the mornings at least for me that state of mind feels like a nod, without quite so much euphoria, but it still so nice to hit snooze, and go back to the land of Morpheus until the alarm next goes off. Presumably this is where morphine derives its name from.

Why is Dan sent to the naughty step lol ?

Hello Ben, long time no see.

Might hold you to that one of these days ;)

Moving is always mentioned as one of those "Most stressful things EVAR!!!" along with divorces and bereavements. I've experienced two of the three on a number of occasions but never gotten divorced. Largely due to never being married. Moving I find a mixed bag - depends a lot on the reasons for moving and where you're moving from and too really. I've had happy moves and not-so-happy moves. This should be in the "happy" camp hopefully as I'll be moving to something rather than running away from something. That's the idea anyway - will have to see how it pans out. And indeed if it pans out. I guess this is where the stressful bit might lie for this particular move. It's not the moving bit that concerns me it's whether it will happen at all. Need to pull me finger out. Which reminds me, I'd best nip out whilst it's nice 'n' sunny and do some minor pottering.

Sorry for such a brief chat but hope you'll pop your head in now and then - we were just talking yesterday about how it's a shame so many of the more active and popular posters so often get sidetracked by that real life stuff. Well, depending on which particular sidetrack it is. Hopefully a positive change for you even if cheffing is still what cheffing was - stressful ol' job is cheffing but hope the break at least gave you a chance to recharge the batteries cos carrots don't chop themselves :D;)<3

for the first time ive accumulated enough STUFF that it will no longer fit in a car. I will now need at least some form of lorry if and when i next move. In a way i miss the days when i could fit all my possessions into a car.

Don't forget kitchen furniture and washing machines.. Have cost me my back more than once on the numerous times I've moved. I kind of like moving every now and then, new surroundings and all

Yep. Absolutely correct.

The Land of Nod, however, is unfortunately nothing to do with opiates or nodding. :\

The Hebrew 'nod' essentially means 'roam' or 'wander'. So when Cain is sent to 'The Land of Nod, east of Eden' in Genesis, it just means he was exiled somewhere 'east of Eden'.

Thank you Magnus Magnusson. That wasnt meant to sound sarcastic. ;)

Phew. Just heard Nigella Lawson isn't going to be prosecuted over her drug use.

#relief #couldn'treallygiveashit

i just didnt get that whole case at all. Why would Nigella Lawson have bought a case against her assistants if she knew she had given them permission to use her credit card for their own use ? She's clearly an intelligent woman and must have kinown all her 'dirty washing' would get aired in public. For that reason it seems obvious the her assistnats were taking the piss and oversepending on Nigela's card or she wouldnt have taken them to court otherwise. :?

Yet they were acquited. 8(

It doesnt seem to have damaged her career one bit though. As far as TV chefs go she's about the only one i can bare to watch, the others are just way too annoying or poncey. I really fucking hate the latest one; Nigel Slater. :X Why and how did he get he job. What is so special about him ? i cannot see anything. Fucking weird.

Isn't consciousness wandering when the opiate user nods? Or is it just me and too many drugs?

First used about drug consciousness in 1968 apparently. Unless the Cain thing is a metaphor for a change of consciousness. Sorry, I'm just trying to make the Bible more interesting. Less ambiguous.

Woo hello :D How's it going?

Still in the uni library here, fucking broadband company need to get their arses in gear. Killing time really. It's quiet, my weird relationship is going tits up, it's an odd time to be alive. Keeping myself cheerful by getting in touch with people to arrange a house warming do middle of next month. Won't be like the last one (I fucking hope, it was great but my god the stress actually hosting one of those things puts you under), just a group of my old mates, mrs snolls if she's still alive/hasn't left the country, and the few people from uni that I don't hate. Ex mrs snolls will be there so it's bound to be a colourful affair =D The first party she was going round giving everyone vodka shots from a water pistol and giving me lap dances, the second party she started arguments with almost everyone there except me.

please, please, please ask your counsellor about help switching to ESA. You really shouldn't have to go without money. You live in a fairly isolated location too, you need dosh.

Good move on the docs appointment tho, hope she's one of the good ones.

yer cheer marmalade not going for esa just yet going for a sick note first see about that Wednesday

I just couldn't handle going out the other Thursday to see a adviser it was the same day as I tried to off myself so they just closed my claim plus the amount of times ive done this of late it aint good

want a good laugh ? watch http://muchosucko.com/120669/Grandpas-Surstrmming-challenge-fail

i hope you find someone with a heart there FG. IIRC you have been refered to drugs support workers ? They can help you with benefits claims, or if yours cannot ask them if they can find someone who can help you. I know myself how complicated the form is, and i was intimidated by it, and didnt even try even though i probably would have qualified for ESA.

Jesus christ ive got one hell of a tremor this evening. Must be that kratom from that head shop, its never had this effect before. Weird, maybe its cos im smoking more i dunno. But my hands are tremoring like a severe alcoholic or something atm, not good.

not sure as to what's happening as yet yes the doctors is cool she is young and open minded so should be ok with things as for the keyworker and things we got in to that a bit today but I will have to wait till after tomorrows drug counsellor sees me to see where we are going

did over hear them talking about the list of over 30 chemicals I submitted saying if hadn't been for me going and asking for help they wouldn't have a clue about half of these chemicals
