I used to enjoy reading all the deleted posts the best, man the amount of shite people posted and then changed their minds about.

Modding is stressful but I bet its a slacker job with all this brokenlight malarkey going on. Btw is brokelight open for business still...just in case?

Good afternoon eadd. This is my 10K attempt it seems, to post this seasonal holiday. Fingers crossed!

PS: Kenny what happened to make you so cynical about women? <3

Oh bluelight...you so broken.

the server busy thing ? It's doing it today at 1pm UK time. :sus: It really is killing off a place that was allready struggling a bit.

Everyone. I've actually been browsing drugs-forum instead.

again, because of the server busy thing ?

If funds dont allow new, bigger, better, servers to be purchased maybe its time to get ruthless with the subforums, and cut out the deadwood, or the least used parts of BL, as long as that doesnt include EADD ofcourse. :\ New Member introductions, for example, allthough it is a nicety, that could go.

Do you have a link to the thread that informs us about the quotes for the work needed, new server etc, or even a diagnosis report of what the actual problem is? .....

Btw hello you x

Struggling? Really? Bluelight is the internet's biggest drug-related forum, and it's only getting bigger. Quit with your pessimism!

Hi Kate, how's things ?

err no i dont, i was just informally chatting to knock about it, i thought the problem was to do with too much traffic, he partially agreed, but also seemed to suggest that pruning the forum a bit might also help. At least thats what i understood him to have meant. Maybe i misunderstood. Im sure he'll clarify if and when he sees this.

I've been trying to read up on it but its been so difficult to get on the forums to keep up with it. Maybe someone will signpost us to where the up to date info is. Appreciate its a mega busy time of year as it is nevermind for the good peeps who volunteer to keep this show on the road.

Hopefully I can get some time today to post here! That would be a nice change for me MDB, so all ok thanks.

Not sure what to do about Hogmanay tonight, we have a few options but I'm in a nesty reflective mood not so "flesh n' blood" social today :D

How are you? Are you spending time with your dad tonight?

It's all explained in the staff forum. I don't know why they're not telling everyone else. I can't copy and paste what's written about it in the staff forum as that would be divulging staff-only information 8(

It ought to be fixed very, very soon though. I can say that much, right?

its been like this for weeks, steadily getting worse. I wont be doimg much for NYE, in grumpy old man fashion i dont really bother celebertaing it any more, I'll probably be continuing to watch the Breaking Bad DVD boxset which i got for christmas. I want to thank everyone who recommended that series, it really is up there with The Wire, if not even better. I didnt like the pilot episode too much, maybe my expectations were too high, wasnt in the right mood, the characters werent immediately engaging end likeable, too much aggression etc. But the 2nd and 3rd episodes flew by, as did the rest of season 1, and as you find out more about the characters, and the more they do, the more likeable they become. Im hooked. I love it.

not to put a downer on everyone but I hate nye so much that I'm just going to grab a bottle of whiskey and some etiz and try and knock myself out and sleep through it. My least favorite night of the year. I don't know if I'm just a mardarse but there's too much forced sentimentality, too much hugging and kissing and general forced happiness, too much pressure to have fun and good time. When your not in a particularly good place anyway it's really annoying, as is Christmas in general really.

I know a few people who are doing various bits and bobs for it but I honestly think I'd rather just sit in by myself. Hope everyone else who isn't as grumpy as me has a good night though, haha :)

this is probably the worst time for the forum to be getting too busy for use. from an HR point of view of course

Thank you flower for at least passing that on.

"very, very soon" to me means in the next 5 mins lol!

Ock I thought you were too young to be a grumpy old man!

Breaking Bad is fantastic, sounds like you have a quality evening planned with that. I've already hoovered that up and Boardwalk Empire and Homelands - the latter being of particular interest to me re the main character. I'm kind in a tv/ series desert at the moment.

Dolls House was ok for mindless fluff, but I have been disappointed by the latest American Horror Story. Apart from the theme tune, I do so want that on my mobile.

How's the housework regime going? This being Hogmanay in Scotland it is traditional for the working class wimmin the likes of me to clean our homes to an inch of their lives - as in the curtains washed, skirting boards cleaned, ceilings dusted - all deep cleaning stuff etc. I'm obviously rebelling against some of that sitting on here! Though the house is pretty organised tbh. I've still to make a traditional steak n link pie for tomorrow mind...

Im 43, so i guess im a grumpy middle aged man lol.

Im glad ive got such an excellent TV series to watch. I think it'll help as a proper diversion to cope with getting off bupe. I really needed something good on TV that would completely hook me, rather than not having anything decent to watch, so it's a god send in that regard.

The kitchen stuff is finally under control. Im adopting a minimalist approach to it now, as in only using 1 plate, 1 bowl etc, to prevent washing up mountains building up. A lot of it has been cleaned and put into storage, some of it thrown away, some of it just chucked in the shed lol.

^
I didn't realise you were 43, buy hey 40 is the new 30 right? Too young for grumping.

It's pretty amazing what you have achieved considering what you have gone through and are still dealing with. Getting your environment sorted, routine, distractions etc are all such a valuable element of recovery. Hope you feel chuffed with yourself, you should.

Distractions are good. Do you like to get out into nature and exercise, like hiking?

Oh why oh why did I say "no chocolates" for xmas - there's not one in the house grrrrr....

afternoon folks and NYE greetings from the emerald isle, quite one for me. sitting in with the family and a few beers. btw 43 is a great age, better than 42 but not as good as 44 ;)

Thanks Kate, I have made progress but still some way to go, it seems achievable though.

I'll be glad to see the end of 2013, allthough Ive enjoyed parts of it, it's been a disasterous year in parts, it'll be good to start afresh in the new year. Yeah i dont mind being 43, i hated turning 30, as i felt i could no longer call myself a youth, but have refused to grow up anyway and other than that age is just an arbitary number.
