Ive allways wanted to go to a proper desert, i did see some semi desert/bush terrain in Australia when we went to that place with the 'stalagmites' blasted out of the sand, cant remember what its called but its quite famous. It was a proper windy sand storm that day, quite spoiled the day really, it was like having your face scrubbed with sandpaper. Maybe on my next visit I'll see some of the proper desert interior of the country and go and see Ayers Rock/Uluru etc.

Nah, I'm sure a bonfire in the middle of the Yorkshire moors would be a lovely way to spend NYE. =D

Deserts are amazing places.. partly just the sheer size of the things. I visited the Sinai desert in Egypt and it was incredibly beautiful, would definitely like to visit more.
 
lol it depends if it extends inland for hundreds of miles. I think deserts are defined by the huge shiffting triangular shaped dunes and the sheer size of them as Swampdragon said, allthough some beaches have mini dunes they arent quite the same thing. Just out of curiosity, do you live in the UK or some other country, if you dont mind publically stating ?

Allthough Yorkshire is often the butt of many jokes I'm sure there are parts of it where it would make a grand setting for a NYE bonfire.

I forgot to take my modafinil today for the first day in months, its too late in the day to take it now or I wont get to sleep until 4am or something. I did need to take a break, i think accidentally forgetting to take it just shows that is all psycholgical, i CAN function without it and dont need it. It's taken an accident to proove this to myself, i think it would do me good to try to stay off it for a while, and just use it for those days when i didnt get enough sleep, which is the proper intended way to use it, rather than taking it every day for a mood boost & energy lift. Eventually you build a tolerance and it "poops out" anyway. :\

Im still deciding whether or not to try and find the ending to A Serbian Film. I've just seen that the whole thing appears to be on Youtube. I know that shit isnt healthy to watch but i want to know what happens in the final 1/3. It really is truly disturbing and sinister, the "music" alone is horrific. I agree with PTCH that in parts it's a very sick & dark comedy I think. The whole thing is very resonant of Ian Watkins. It isnt child porn, it's about child porn.

I've been to the Sahara. It's fucking massive and full of....nothing. You cannae have a desert full of anything.

Atlas mountains, now there's another thing. Best thing about Morocco.

I've also been to Yorkshire. It's full of racists . Yorkshiremen. Same thing?

In the summer of 2003 I was in Cape Verde, I spent two nights in a cave goat herders use, on a mountain in the middle of the desert, was pretty cool, I had some tuna cans, a sleeping bag and two types of weed wrapped in old newspaper, some local leafy and seedy shit and some nicer buds imported from Senegal. It was good, on the third morning I left the cave and went down to the beach to see a shipwreck, ended up liking the place and blazing up all day so spent a night there too. Then I made my way back to the town where I was staying



 
closest ive been to a desert is some sand dunes in the tenerife islands. still seemed like a desert, got lost in them for the best part of a day. after 2 hours walking i couldnt see the edges of the dunes, nor anything resembling humanity or indeed earth. just the sky abouve, burning sun and endless sand dunes around. quite the feeling...
imagine how the first people crossing the sahara mustve felt.

(also, fucking server is so damn busy again)

It's lovely, excellent place and fairly cheap, not that expensive to fly there either, most flights there pass through Lisbon.

The sea is great, I've actually seen sharks while snorkelling there, different types, some others come next to the beach at dusk, on that occasion there were several so didn't go in the water, you eat a lot of grilled tuna steaks there, weed is easy to get, well at the time I had dreadlocks so was asked if I wanted some buds as soon as I stepped into town, literally took me five minutes.
