In case anyone cares, my town is being flooded right now ... the dock gates have been breached, sea flood defenses breached, loads of homes evacuated and a fair few flooded.

I have no contents, nor buildings insurance (which breaks the terms of my mortgage)

Wooop!

I live like 2 minutes away from the industrial part of the docks.

You can swim though right? :) :|

EDIT And watch out for that woman's shit Nerdboy saw earlier.

I can. quite well actually

I've been lolling like fuck to the sirens since they came on

They sound exactly like the old air raid sirens, or like nuclear war ones ... they're dramatic as fuck

You get the wooop wooop siren sound and an electonic male voice stating, 'you are in extreme danger, there is a threat to your life (or summat stupid like that) you MUST take this seriously and ring floodline and listen to your local radio station'

How can you not fucking LOL at that?

I'm upstairs in bed with my lappy where I've been all afternoon after going to appointment shit all morning. I've got a bottle of prosecco on the go and a full laptop battery. I'm not moving. My sis keeps trying to get me to get my insurance online right now but I honestly can't be bothered.

High tide was meant to be at 7 tonight but it reached it by about 5 I think and so it's a bit mental. Two more record breaking tides expected tomorrow too

Urgh, tell me about it. My boyfriend had to drag me out of bed at about half eight this morning, and that was still too early. Fucking winter gloominess. :|

I've just seen your forecast Marmz. Hope you aren't thinking of driving (on sheets of ice) in the morning.
 
Woah marmz, id get stimmed up and get that insurance sorted, and get the sandbags piled up. Must be a miserable prospect to have potentially in store. Manchester has about 11 rivers all running underneath the cities streets, i dont know why, touch wood, the dont seem prone to flooding, but i hope you escape it.

They've even set up shelter places

2 of my aunts are on the ferry back from Bruges tonight too ... holy fuck I don't evny them. Soooo glad I didn't go now

We used to live even closer to the beach when I was a kid, and I remember sandbags well. The tide came to to the top of the street once which was dead exciting as a 6 yr old.

I'll do the insurance in the morning. It'll have probably gone up to like 2k or something overnight cause of all the news fuss. oh well 8)
 
Where did all this weather come from, was it about a month or so ago there was like a 4 day warning of there is going to be some massive storm, shits going to happen etc then by around 10am there was a light breeze and a few trees down and not much else.

Then I wake up this morning apparently in the middle of the stormy weather that is going to sink britain, no warning though.

Found about £130 worth of bitcoins on a lost account, did the right thing and bought some drugs.. so I guess today was a good day for some.

Hope you dont get flooded marmz!
