You can get a TEFL certificate in a weekend mate. And that's you a qualified English teacher. 8)

^Why not join the expat drinking brigade? I know a lot of those TEFL types, met a few around the world, it makes me seriously sorry for those poor children in developing countries, they must be getting a very flawed idea of Westerners...You just get pissed every night and "teach" during the day. Heard in places like Cambodia you don't even need to be a native speaker, just get a fake TEFL certificate in Khao san road, hop on a bus and show you unshaved ass in a school.

Aye loads of folk don't even have a certificate, get hired just because they speak English. I've even met Germans, Dutch, Danish people doing it. The schools don't give a shit either in most place, they'll hire anyone that wants the job. It's not like the kids or their families know the teacher isn't a native or shit at English and teaching.

Well yeah thats the plan to go and have fun, I doubt youd go to have a worse life than you where already having, fuck the kids.

Teaching kids all day would drive me fucking mental. My mate does it in a Thai village and he says the kids are cunts.

Nothing wrong with having fun but there's responsibilities that come with the job, especially in countries where teachers are usually respected, for me dirty hostel krusties, high and drunk attempting to give children class, while wasting their time and the school's money are a sad sight.

A lot of people are just there because they want to live in the country they are in not because they want to be a teacher. I don't blame them, one of the few ways to get a job in a lot of countries. Shame on the kids though I suppose.
