Gibberings CIX: Faulty 'y' key? Or just high?

Re Student Loans: I'm sure you'll be able to pay it off Spade.

The letter is dated from months ago, got sent to somewhere I no longer live and was simply asking me to update my records of whether I'm working, in the country etc but that if I didn't reply they'd just start taking the money back plus add more on to the loan. I only just got the letter. Hopefully I can sort it.

In the past month I've had a £400 tax rebate then another part of the tax office asked me for £170 back for overpaid tax (which is lies), my bank asked for my overdraft back, Sky Bet are refusing to pay me money the owe me and now the student loan company want their money back. Who's next? :sus:

Just when you think you're getting ahead again. :X

How were you not aware of the fact, if you took out the loans in the first place?

Anyway, do you not have to be above a certain income threshold to have to be paying them?

I was aware I had a student loan and I was aware I had to pay it back at some point, as far as I know it's usually when you're earning over £15k? I'm not earning over £15k, I'm unemployed, but they sent a letter to my old address months ago asking to update the records or they'll start taking it back....I didn't get that letter till now. :|

There was no scamming. I played a bonus they were offering, there was nothing in the rules to say I couldn't do what I did, so it was all legit. They were stupid fucks who let a bonus go live without the proper terms in place, got raped and probably lost a few hundred grand, and now are refusing to pay everyone.

So you were actually gambling and they refuse to pay you?

edit> nevermind

I wouldn't worry about the student loan, I've just paid back my first ever amount because my salary went to 16k with commission, above the 15k threshold. Paid back one entire pound. Its 10% of what you earn above 15k. So its 100 quid if you earn 30k which I guess starts to become a significant amount of cash.

I'm currently earning nothing, I'm not even working. I'm sure a phone call tomorrow and getting the form sent back to them can sort it out. Tried to phone the tax office today to dispute the money they want back, says on the letter to call one number which I do, go through loads of options and then it tells me this department has changed number and to call another. I call that number and it says the same and tells me to call the other number I just called. Useless cunts. Couldn't get speaking to anyone.

I blame PTCH.

That's strange, I was under the impression that they always take it automatically if you earn above the threshhold as they have done with me. I've never had a letter demanding payment of any kind just the normal annual statement. 20 fucking k, and I don't even have a degree. Mostly spent on weed 8)

Fun though eh? =D

I have an honours degree out of it but not that I'm using it for anything.

I found the student loans company really reasonable Spade. As long as you let them know whats going on and dont blank the letters. Ring them up asap and tell them you're on the rock n roll :D The longer you leave it though the worse it gets and they do start sending debt collectors etc out ( from what friends have told me).. £1 a week I was paying them for several years.

******

Yeah Spade what does that entail? Arranging conferences etc?
