Speaking of Halloween mixes, i've already started mine haha. Just wanna make sure everything is perfect by the time it comes around. No one does a Halloween mix better than Deadboy though...

Aye, that's what I was thinking. There will be about 15 folk there at that point, as oppose to the 100+ that'll be there later, so it won't exactly kick off the way I'd want it to, cunts will probably still be putting up decorations & organising shit, barely paying attention, but I don't give a fuck. I'm rocking out to that, I'm glad I've already got that version with the "so much of the music we hear today is pre-programmed electronic disco we never get the chance to hear master blues men practicing their craft..." on MP3.

The temptation to just continue to put Blues Brothers tunes on instead of the warm-up deep house & techno that's expected of me will be massive though.

Was thinking about chopping it up in Ableton to get the "pre-programmed electronic disco" to keep looping up & drop into something but I reckon that's over-thinking it. Keep it simple is the plan.

It could work. No harm in trying. If it doesn't sound right then just keep it simple like you said.

We're having a similar get together for Halloween, should be a big crowd.
I think I'm gonna sample the first 42 seconds of the Count Duckula intro then blend it in with the first track using a few synth's and build up FX in cubase. Export it to wav. then put it in deck 1. Should be a lot of people my age there so hopefully if they were big fans of the show like I was growing up it should go down well and they'll see the funny side of it. Fingers crossed anyway...
 
Haha, that's a brilliant idea. I've got the first episode of that as a bonus on another DVD (Dangermouse I think). Both quality cartoons, kids these days don't know what they're missing.

With my Blue Brothers idea the folk who get it (including the other Blues Brother obviously) will fucking love it, everyone else will likely wonder what the fuck I am up to lol.


I asked in another thread but I reckon I'll get a response from you. Can I plug an S4 controller straight into a standard mixer? Like 2 RCA cables into one of the channels, then just ignore the mixer? I've usually got it just wired directly into 2 speakers.

I've said it 100 times. Benzos for fun is a stupid idea. Benzos are great though. Nothing kills a comedown like a wee scooby & a good few help massively with getting to sleep. I treat them as a medicine, rather than as a recreational drug.

Because you don't like the hit off them? To be honest a couple of blues say 20-30mg and a couple of cans in the house is on par with a smoke in my book. They can be used medicinally without being on a comedown, just so long as it's kept to an occassional thing.

The "dodgy" benzos I've had were either bunk, or weak, I never came across any that seemed to be harmful in the way PMA Ecstasy pills are for example, I'm sure they exist but they do seem to be relatively rare.

There was a batch of snide Roches a while back that had traces of arsnic in them. I don't have a link but was Evad who posted in on here. It's definately less common usually shit blues are just piss weak or chalk.

I just think they mong me out, I mean it's nice n that but it's not the sort of dunt I enjoy. They just make me feel really tired & lazy, like a shite version of being stoned. Then you take enough of them to get an actual dunt fuck knows what happens until the police tell you the next day lol.

I love halloween as well, always a good party on & it's a great laugh seeing everyone dressed up like a dick. Massive BOOOOOO to anyone that doesn't dress up.

Last year my mate had a party in her massive flat, it was a fucking belter, they pure decked the place out in hunners of mad shit. Had a blood covered manikin in the bathtub that freaked me right out at least 6 different times when going for a piss. My pal's getting this club decorated halloween style as well, she's going to go in next week & see what they'll let her away with. She's bumping all my maw's halloween decorations (of which there are fucking loads, due to overkill when she was having a party a few years back).
 
The buzz of benzos and booze is nice, 10mg of diaz and some beers or wine is nice and chilled, few more diaz in the mix it's almost euphoric but can go wrong too quickly. Better kept for harm reduction purposes than getting smashed on.
