if i just want to quote a part of one persons post, its easier to cut and paste, than to use the quote button and highlight and delete two parts of the quote (possibly taking a quote tag out in the process).

Why does it annoy you?> and others

Indeed.

But for what it's worth I think if you're going to quote an individual person on here you're essentially commenting on something they've said, so you should credit them, so they are more likely to see what you're saying to/about them, and it makes threads easier to follow. If it's just a quote from a link, quote tags are fine.

IMO its bad form to not put their name to the words, but then this is spade we're talking about.
 
Surely it takes just as long to highlight part of the post to delete it as it does to copy and paste it though?? I guess it annoys me a bit, mostly I just don't understand it. Also it doesn't look as good as quotes with the original posters username at the top.
 
Kate I missed your question earlier on about the course ( i'm all over the place ternight and i'm not even on anything).

The ad in the local says:

Its in a local town hall. I've been reading a lot of advaita lately so yeah it really floats me boat. I just noticed theres no Shankara. Tsk yer cant have yer Eastern Philosophy withaht yer Shankara ffs.

you dont necessarily have to copy and paste it that way to get the result spade does mugz, there are other ways to do it.

he could just do it the normal way, then delete the post id and username at the beginning of the quote bit, and then delete what he doesn't want from the quote. that achieves the same result as how his quotes look

I know he could do it that way marmz, but that would be pretty pointless, why would you choose to specifically remove the username and post id from the beginning? Doesn't make much sense. I'm gonna stop letting it bother me now anyways, each to their own and all that. Just seems silly.
 
you obviously click quote after copying and pasting what you want to quote in the advanced reply box, it's not rocket science, it's a stupid way to post though, why do you choose to quote like that?

It's just easier to read a post and know who you are replying to without having to scroll back and see if you keep the username bit in the quote, that's it really, my annoyance got blown out of proportion because I was getting lairy at you for something else too and just threw the quote thing in on top.

LOL ... This is Spade. Of all the things to pick up on that are totally fucking nonsensical about Spade, you pick his quoting technique =D

There's a queue of shit a mile long regarding Spade's remedial behaviour that need answering before we get to his tech foibles, surely? He's a psychologists wet dream

Poppies, UR-144, 3-FA, 4-FA, MXE - these are my tipples today.

Has anyone here tried UR-144? It's supposed to be active at 1mg type doses, I've had about 4mg tonight and feel next to nothing. I was hoping to get stoned, not sure why.
 
I love it when my meds that usually just make me feel "normal" end up getting me slightly kushty %)
But I don't know if I'll have enough to last me till Monday... Prolly should.
