As a Scotman I've never used the word 'bird' to mean anything other than the flying creature or a female.
 
oh riiiight. It's my virtual server, I will check what's on it tomorrow, but I access it using pop3 on laptop (ubuntu/evolution) and IMAP on my phone and on both I delete messages, wait, they go, I send/receive and they come back. It's fucking annoying as I am also currently being flooded with spam.

POP3 is horrible. Use IMAP on both!

IMAP is the modern, capable system. POP3 is the crufty old worn out 80s system.

Use IMAP everywhere! The only use I have for POP3 is getting my email from my ISP via fetchmail. I get it all with fetchmail every 5 minutes and bung in a maildir structure which I expose to the network (home and Internet) using Dovecot's IMAP implementation.

My next step would be to cut out the ISP completely and get my mail delivered directly to my server. But - I won't do that as having my mail routed through my ISP means if I have a server failure, mail will just accumulate at my ISP.

It was stupid quantities of etizolam that led me to exit via the double glazing.

What do you mean, see what you mean? =D You've only just learnt this fact, it happened in March. The recovery and sorting out the psychological issues that led to it have been the main thing in my life since then.
