Only time I made it into the 20s was when I was on prednisolone because they only came in 5mg pills and my dose was always different as I was always tapering.

Much more respectable 4x 2mg loperamide a day now, so good to be mostly free from the pills, hope you manage to reduce that number Sadie.

What can I say, Go hard or go home! ;) That's just the morning meds. Thankfully the most I take during the rest of the day is 6 in a go. some 3 times a day some 4. Yeah, I'm a bit drugged up to the hilt atm.

Big smiles and waves waiting for the crash that usually happens after brekkie and med time. I become a very drowsy house cat. I also find I slobber a lot! Thought I'd leave you with that Sexy image!

Nah no topical meds for burns and no painkillers either.

Just a Vaseline dressing and antibiotics.

I wouldn't take painkillers anyway. I've got MST and Oramorph in the cupboard untouched. Just got to get on with it really. Took today off though.

Yes the morning med round was always the busiest by a long way...i hope they work their magic on you with haste. Remember to keep up your nutrition and fluid intake (unless on a fluid restriction ).Its a huge part of the healing process as is pain management...poorly managed pain and stress significantly suppresses the immune system. It releases a hormone in your body called cortisol which among other things suppresses the immune response. So eat well, try and relax and keep any pain managed is my advice. Get well good Sadie.
 
Never heard that before consumer. It makes sense though. I've not been hungry these past few days since the pain returned. It's not been managed though with any meds, only one days worth.

Sprout tried to PM you but your box is full.

Yeah morning meds are the shittiest. Lots of multiples of various meds. Yeah, I'm on Ensure 3x a day to keep up my nutrients, Plenty of herbal tea, water, diluting juice etc. I'm also having to take 5 water tablets 2 different ones. I have never pee'd so much in my life. Less than a 10 minute turn around when they kick in 8o !!

Certainly stress is a major factor, hence me moving soon. Hopefully soon I'll have a sexy full time carer to look after me! I'm okay with meds but he happens to be an amazing cook and knows what I like and what I need to eat! I also snack on a lot of high water content raw veg and fruit through out the day. Doctors are really happy with my progress. I just can't wait to be settled in new flat away from stress and shite. Yeah, docs told me that I'm 10x more susceptible to viruses and other illnesses and i'd take me a lot longer to get over them whilst i'm recovering.

The best healing agent available is love. Any nurse will tell you that. If you are on diuretics such as furosemide then they probably dont want you taking in too much fluid..usually because of kidney function or high blood pressure. Just stay hydrated, eat well, relax and soak up Shams love. Thats the best advice i can give. X

Yeah bro. Heaps of clinical evidence backing all of that up. Sounds like pain is undertreated in the UK going from your experience. We are all over it here in Australia. Especially acute pain. Chronic pain is a more complex issue due to dependence and tolerance build up to the best analgesics as our resident paramedic can attest to. But if your pain is not managed then your healing will be slower. I suggest trying another gp if the one you are seeing is not looking after it properly.

I'm on 3 Spironolactone ( 100 mg each ) and 2 Furosemide (40 mg ) per day. My kidney function is perfect according to daily blood tests that was one thing they were worried about before putting me on so much but it seems that they are damn fine kidneys according to them! Everyone always likes the adoration of ones kidneys to make them feel sexy! But..... I was also told to keep up my fluid intake. Make sure I drink enough etc. They're happy I'm happy. Well as happy as one can be I guess.
BP is good too. Blood sugar always in a healthy range except the day that in morning I was a 4.1 and in the evening was 9.7. I don't usually fluctuate that much. Usually between 5-7. I'm in good working order other than that.


Yeah, I have a feeling that man is gonna dote on me. Best nurse ever! ( aside from your good self of course! ) I'm in good hands. I know he'll be watching me like a hawk. I'm just stubborn and would rather usually do things myself and cannot stand being told what to do! He already knows better!
 
Hot nurse and a good environment-great way to recover! My pill load is greater in the evening, wonder why the difference? Feel better, Sadie.
 
IIRC Spironolactone is a potassium sparing diuretic and furosomide a loop diuretic (the brand name lasix cos it "lasts six" hours). Furosomide is pretty heavy duty stuff we carry it to treat congestive heart failure.

Sadie I'm currently taking furosemide tablets for water retention on my knee. But like the cunt I am ,I'm still drinking alcohol on them and it's now effecting my foot.
Time to stop drinking me thinks.
Nothing like your war story , but my own little bit of grief.and like you I don't stop pissing where the fucks it come from ? :)

Leg has swollen up and turned bright red (and I feel awful)....

Phoned the doctors and they wanted to make me an appointment in TWO FUCKING WEEKS!!!!

Looks like I'm spending my evening trecking back to A&E :(

Go! You have extensive Training and even I can tell that isn't good! From what you said, I couldn't tell if they debrided you earlier. Did anyone give you a silvadene ointment?
