Mad..I, son?
Hey words! first submission, more will follow if it is desired.

two giants, unfathomable
reaching down from the skies
dropping manna and affection
home is safe and warm
they will never die...

and he grows

move giants, get out his way
he's invincible, untouchable
who are you to say, to say
where he may tread
he will never die

and he learns...

he leaps out of hallways
freedoms abounding
leave that place behind
drive, drive anywhere
innocence will die

and the illusion fades

two humans, too human
still loving, and giving
bearing a son's burden on their shoulders
while their gods crumble before them
love will never die

never let it die

and he learns
and grows,
and loves,
and hates
this world
himself

his love will never die

A clever metaphor for the growth process...it tickled me when I realized what you had written.

Thanks man, you always seem to have a positive word for everyone!

This is basically just me musing about how my perception of my parents has changed as I've aged. Seeing my grandmother slowly fade away struck me with a keener awareness of my parents' and own mortality.

^Yes, it should be an interesting topic for us all. You really have me thinking now.
