GHB testing

Irecently got arrested for DUI, and i had drank about 3 caps of GHB in about 2 hours, and 2 beers
I was taken to the police staion about half hour later and given a breathalizer abouat an hour after finishing the 2 beers I blew a 0.00. They then gave me a urin test. I know in standard drug tests, i.e. for jobs or probation don't find GHB. My ques. is will a urin test given for a DUI find GHB?

Have no idea whether they'll find it... My concern is why you were having G with beer?

There is virtually no chance they will detect GHB. You should be fine.

You are lucky that you got pulled over before you passed out while driving. Don't mix.

GHB exists in the human body naturally, therefore there is virtually no way to accurately test for it.
Definitely be cautious with the G and alcohol combo.

Couldn't they just check the quantity, surely if you ingested it, it would be much more than the normal.

Testing for every drug requires expensive gear and is time consuming. There are so many recreational and perscription drugs that significantly effect judgement, that like anything... it tends to come down to money.
But I guess if they wanted to test you for G, they could.

They can give you a DUI without proving your under the influence of anything.. its just alot harder to prove in court.

There are currently no urine tests I'm aware of that test for GHB. It is impractical since G only stays in your system for a few hours before being metabolized. Only law enforcement would find this useful for prosecuting DUI's, and then only if they take the sample while you are under the influence. I doubt it will happen.
