I am prone to anxiety and panic attacks, and I was wondering how concerned I should be with the "dopamine rebound" a few hours after you dose with G or its counterparts. Also, is it up for debate about whether or not its dopamine? I thought that I had read somewhere that research showed glutamate may be the culprit.

Thanks!

not sure on the finer details but there most definitely is a rebound of some sort..increased anxiety but also a sort of wakefulness that feels kind of good tbh..to avoid this i would take phenibut, small dose..

Taking phenibut to deal with GHB rebound is not smart, seeing as both drugs share the same mode of action as a GABA-B agonist.

I somehow doubt the "dopamine rebound" is really caused by excessive dopamine levels. A more likely culprit is you are noticing the rapid decay of GHB in your body and the effects reverse pretty quick as such.

^^well nothing else worked and taking drugs in general could be considered as 'not smart' lol..pheni did wipe out the sometimes nasty effect that can occur though..

That argument is pretty invalid, it suggests that there is no scaling factor for perhaps reckless behaviour.
Sure perhaps taking MDMA isn't smart, but taking MDMA with an MAOI is whole levels more stupid and reckless.
Your situation could be compared to mixing stimulants which share the same mechanism of action, which is much less smart than only using one stimulant.
I'm not sure what excess GABA-B agonism would do however.
Just because it made you feel better doesn't mean a thing

valid point but OP is talking about dopamine rebound or the crash from ghb and i simply said after many years phenibut is the only thing that prevents it or stops it so of course it means it a great deal..i never ran into problems using phenibut in small doses when coming down on ghb..

besides, what i also noticed is the crash from ghb doesnt always occur, maybe 50% of the time for me, maybe more often?it isnt that bad either, just mild irritability and a weird energetic state..

I've only used ghb once but I never noticed a crash.
But if OP is abusing all kinds of rebound effects can occur whether they are caused my hormone rebounds or simply not being able to deal with being sober.
I've noticed that a lot of drugs that normally don't give comedowns can make people depressed if they're dependent
