Benzos GHB/BDO and benzo pharmacokinetics?

First, I know this can easily be a deadly combination in high doses. I am aware of how dangerous this could be.

I am wondering just how much the benzo would potentiate the GHB, because GHB is mainly a GABAb agonist and is only a weak GABAa agonist.

Anyone have any experience mixing GHB or BDO with benzos?
 
it is not that simple but in general dangerous combo as affinity is f.e. for clonazepam higher than for diazepam still it is playing with fire so which benzo is and do you have any tolareance?
 
I have major tolerance. My gaba receptors are fried. I certainly wouldn't even be thinking of this combo if I didn't have major tolerance going into it.
 
Yeha I mixed BDO with benzos, being tolerant to both. It's dangerous please don't do it, keep the benzos when you run out of BDO.

BDO/GHB wd are no joke you really gonna need the benzos there

I was curious, GHB halflife is pretty short, and even for someone with no tolerance a couple of valiums isn't very much, so I did a bit of research and hadn't even realised that "Emergency medicine literature consistently warns that GHB + benzos is one of the highest‑risk depressant combinations, even when not taken simultaneously"

Why the risk remains high at the 2‑hour mark​

At 2 hours after GHB:

  • GHB CNS effects are still present (even if blood levels are falling)
  • GABA‑B activation is ongoing
  • Respiratory drive is still suppressed
  • Sedation and motor impairment persist
  • Nonlinear elimination means some people clear GHB slower than expected
  • Diazepam onset is fast, so the depressant overlap is immediate
This is pharmacodynamic stacking, not just pharmacokinetic overlap.

Thanks for the warning. I was planning on using 1ml BDO which is equivalent to 1.4g of GHB salt. I will avoid directly combining them. I've already had a lot of unexpected blackouts from GHB itself
 
I was using 1,4b. I had the valium well after my last dose of G and someone had to press the emergency stop button on the train. The overdose happened about 1.5 hours after I took the valium.

My partner had the valium on him. I woke up as the paramedics were arriving. The police were also waiting outside the train. They immediately searched me, found the valium. Which was a significant blow to me as I have a criminal record and there were also a lot of very angry people in the train. My partner was beside himself as I was completely out, apparently CPR had been performed on me. The doses of both drugs were basically 1/3 of a usual dose for me, and dosed 3 hours apart. I was also very high on meth so I just want to warn you that I don't think there is a safe way to do this combo full stop.
May I ask you what you are trying to achieve?

I was under the impression that the G had worn off and I was coming down hard from the meth so I was using the valium to ease my comedown and it ended very badly. I thought it was jail for me but thank god I only got a fine but the whole experience sucked and my intention was not to experience the effects of both drugs, it was simply to come down.
I don't think G/1,4B and benzos would be even slightly enjoyable.
If you do decide to go through with this I would take th G first and don't take benzos for at LEAST 4 hours after your last G dose, even if you feel sober because that's exactly what I did and after 20 years of using just about all common drugs and most of the rares drugs/RC's and always knowing exactly what I was doing, this was completely unexpected and could have killed .
And pls don't use a full dose of benzos. Stagger your dose, take 1/3 your dose then 1/3 each hour after that.

Think this stands out for me as the classic upper + downer issue:- when the upper masks/counters the downer effect and then the upper wears off. If you're stacking downers then it leaves you in an unknown position once the upper wears off. Not to say doing GHB + Benzo's is safe though.

I enjoy GHB occasionally and love it sometimes with coke or mephedrone, but I dose specifically for the combo (lighter on the GHB than usual) and time my redose hourly so I never overdo the GHB (I also log what I take). I never mix GHB with Alcohol or Benzos, think that's a key HR principle as OP noted.

I always start slow and titrate up when doing new combos, personally though I would just avoid this GHB + Benzo combo, too many horror stories out there. There's safer ways to get the effect you want.

Yeah the unexpected unconsciousness sucks. Yesterday, I was dancing in the kitchen, started having sex with my husband and woke up on the bathroom floor with my husband looking at me asking, "Do you know where you are?" I said, "yeah silly, in the bathroom floor." Then I hopped up thinking five minutes had passed when it had been more like two hours. I barely even took half a cap of it. It hit me too fast- which should've been my number one red flag. Honestly, looking back, I remember thinking "I am in trouble," but trying to play it off, thinking I was invincible. At 36, I am most certainly NOT invincible.

With GHB knowing the dose is crucial aswell as keeping a timeline in check of when dosing. Especially when prone to "lets take a little more dont feel it "

Barely a half cap already sounds dangerous. When i used liquid form made my own G. Knowing the exact dose per ml. is 100% crucial. Then dose using measurement a syringe without needle. Though anything that would work. GBL eat through certain plastics. Needs a bit more attention and diluting.

Do you know the strenght and the form its in ? GHB or GBL
 
Yeah, I am going to be honest and say I didn't measure. I used a tiny cap (one a very small bottle) whereas I usually use a 20 oz. bottle cap and do a 1/4 -1/2 up to a full cap----with that said, I typically water mine down quite a bit (BDO) when I mix it. And it usually is 99.9% pure BDO to begin with---this was actually GHB I believe---it didn't taste like BDO. When I first got it----from a trusted friend----she told me to use it sparingly compared to what we usually have. So I did 1/2 the normal amount I would. It kicked in hard & I felt great----but I redosed and ended up passing out. This was three days ago. Yesterday, I did the same amount that made me feel good (not crashed) from the first time & it hit me so hard ----it knocked me out QUICK.

Today, I did a much smaller amount, I never felt it & just dosed up with a few drops. I like the 1,4 BDO, because I know what I am working with as I always get the same brand, which basically arrives frozen, even when it is 80 degrees outside. Then, I mix water with it (2x water to 1x BDO). I start with a low dose and slowly work my way up. I guess I got too excited (you know the whole 'rave in my kitchen' idea on a depressed ass day.)
 
as has already been noted accurate dosing is critical.

the concentration of BDO/GBH/GBL is also important to know/understand, as is their different onset times.

I'm not having a dig at you @theangryflower , in fact lots of kodus to you for being honest about things, these missteps aren't talked about enough here, for other readers it's a useful little lesson in HR.

Got a new drug to try? got a new batch of something you always take? ALWAYS start low and titrate up. ALWAYS measure what you take (weigh it, volumetrics). Get it tested!

A bit of AI generated slop to illustrate the point below, I've not checked this info is correct but the key take out is that you're not in control of how much you take when you eyeball an amount in a cap, and when that thing is strong enough to tip you over the edge if you take 0.3ml too much it's a bit risky! Add onto things that it was a new batch of unknown strength and unknown drug..... well you get the point, risk on risk on risk...

So I've been drinking butandaoyl about 2 oz a day for almost 5 yrs. Hopefully the spelling is correct, lol.... Anyways, to go along with this 5 year binge, throw in some meth. Not a single day has went by that I went without either. I know withdrawals are dangerous. I'm scared but it's something I have to face soon. Any tips on doing so safely? I live in Alabama. The detox facilities in this state are shit to say the least. Sometimes I think that we're a bunch of lab rats....
 
I've mixed GBL and benzos (clonazepam, diazepam, alprazolam) in the past. I would not recommend it, even with a massive tolerance. BDO has much slower onset due to conversion in the body versus GBL too (GBL literally 5 minutes, BDO up to 45 in my experience), so the risk of errantly redosing is also higher imo.

there's quite a few threads if you search for GHB taper, of GHP withdrawal, but worth reading the mega thread and asking more questions there.

quick scan suggests you need to taper (not sure how long for), and might consider some other GABA drugs while you're doing it, not recommening what as you need to think about your own history to pick the right thing.

Has anyone done a successful taper from BDO?

I've been on it 24/7 several years, relapsed and now i'm on it again since 20 weeks. After week 2 i started to reduce the amount and went from 25+ ml to now 10-15ml.

I feel no physical wd, with daridorexant and dph i can sleep 8+ hours, so no comparison to the times i was doing 70+ ml per day years ago. If i redose now, it's 99% because of the craving. I don't feel any effects from my 1-1,5ml doses, same for 2,5ml. So i don't know why i even do it. I don't know when i can kick it off completely, i've had seizures and deliria/artificial comas...
