Opioids getting wisdom teeth removed tomorrow...

well im getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, im quitting cigarettes for at least 3 days after i get my surgery, but pain REALLY makes me want a cigarette. i have a natural high tolerance to pain meds... as in i normally take 3 10/325mg hydros to get a good feeling. ive never met my orthodontist who is doing the surgery, but ive heard its hard to convince them you have a low pain tolerance and a high opiate tolarance(witch i really do have).
so im looking at the alternative route if i cant get my surgeon to at least prescribe me 10/500's(witch he will most likely give me 5/500, and that will leave me in major pain).

i got enough mxe to leave me fucked up for a few days, i can go buy 2-3 80mg morhpine tabs from a friend and that should be enough to get me through the first two days(although that dose seems a bit high while im still going to be spitting out blood... dont want to nod out and choke on my own blood)

any advise of what i should do? ... my plan is to ask for a script of 10 10/325 hydrocodone to get me trough the first 2 days, and do mxe in between that time and after.

idk... im extremely nervous about the pain im going to have afterwards, especially with one of my teeth growing forwards

ABSOLUTELY do not smoke cigarettes at all or suck through straws or make that motion for WAY MORE THAN THREE DAYS. Three days it NOT enough, try like, 2 weeks minimum, it takes like 6-8 weeks for the wound to finally almost be done healing, and you do not even want to know what Dry Socket is.

We can't help you with advice for how to get a prescription, but I'll tell you this from my similar experience.

I was heavily opioid dependent at the time of my wisdom tooth extraction, so during my consultation prior to the surgery, where he went over the xrays and where I could voice any questions or concerns, I told him about my opioid dependence and that I also had been prescribed benzodiazepines for many years and required higher doses than other people even though I didn't take benzodiazepines often anymore.

I was scared I would be in extra pain post-op and also that I was afraid the general anesthesia, if it were fentanyl based, might not have been strong enough, especially since it's usually fentanyl/midazolam (Versed) here in the USA for general anesthesia, although it does vary heavily on a case by case basis. I was worried the midazolam wouldnt be strong enough and the fentanyl too, and my dental surgeon was very compassionate and worked with my pain management doctor to plan out a specialized treatment plan, and I was extremely thankful for this because although my procedure and anesthesia went totally fine, no problems, my post-op pain was off the charts unbearable, and I required much more potent opioids than the standard oxycodone/APAP they usually give patients.

I'm closing this because it's kinda in the grey area of violating forum guidelines, I'm sorry though buddy, if it's any consolation, if you get good general anesthesia (And PAY ATTENTION and BE INVOLVED during your consultation otherwise you're leaving the dosing up to them), you should be fine. Post-op pain varies greatly patient by patient, I was just one of the unfortunate ones who suffered horribly post-op.
