I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but how do you get someone to actually use a testing kit if I buy it for them?
A little background: My stepbro has just started college, and I know he's going to start trying harder drugs than weed. He was pretty tame in HS and now he's realizing how much fun it is to party. He has boarding school syndrome (what we called the situation when kids who did absolutely nothing in HS come to college and realize how awesome drugs are, then go way overboard. Whether or not they went to boarding school doesn't matter, but it's the most common cause, hence the name). He hasn't started using mdma yet, but I know it's an inevitability. Even, in the off chance that it's not, I still want him to have a mecke reagent test.
The problem: I just know that if he had a test, he would forget about it or it would be too much of a hassle and he'd never use it. Although these may seem trivial issues, they really aren't in his setting. For example, when is he going to go buy latex gloves. Mecke is sketchy to use without latex gloves. He's a broke college kid though, he's not going to go buy some. Even if I buy some for him, it would make it seem like more of a pain in the ass. These are small examples, but they are hurdles. Also, where is he going to do the actual test? He can do it in his dorm room, but for some reason I think it would sketch him out. Are him and his friends going to even care about test results? They might just say fuck it. What if it doesn't change colors? It could be coke, or ketamine, or speed, as well as PMA, so they'll look at the color coding and say fuck it. Since college kids are so broke, they might be hesitant to waste even a small amount. The other problem is upsetting the dealer. This is the dorms, the dealer lives 100 yards away, and there are kids everywhere that you'd want to warn. On the off chance that you buy some shit from him and it is bad, running around the campus telling people not to buy it is going to get your ass kicked.
Each one of these issues can probably be handled independently, but when it comes down to doing the actual test before a night of rolling, he's going to read the directions and say fuck it.
Any advice on how to convince him to use it every time?
