getting self checked for stds

I feel that I should probably gt myself checked and just want to know the best way to do it. I know that certain diseases take awhile to be able to detect and so I need to know when to get checked and how to do it for free if possible. I'm in the USA.

You are in America silly, nothing is free! Go to a clinic, a few dollars isn't worth the spread of disease nor the harm you may do to yourself by waiting.

Go to a planned parenthood center or look up free anonymous HIV/STD testing in your area. Most places are free or they will ask for a small amount of money as a donation. It's nowhere nearly as expensive as seeing a doctor and getting certain tests and exams done through the doctor.

If you are female, planned parenthood is definitely your best (i.e. cheapest) option.

In my state, there are some really good, free clinics for lower income individuals in Phoenix and Tucscon.

In California we have clinics, county run I believe, where kids get vaccines, teens get birth control pills, and where you can get tested AND TREATED for std's. They will charge you but if you are broke they will bill you. Give some thought to what or whose address would be best for you to use. They send you bills. Somewhere along the way, you can pay them but if you need the treatment now, by all means get the treatment now, and let the dollars get here when they get here.
