Getting rid of THC . Me wantsy more CBD !

i took some wet, just cut sour diesel and threw part of it in an air tight container and in the freezer. this was a terrible idea, sort of, as my perfect buds turned black and purple after so many hours, the trichomes turned gold and amber.

that super sativa turned into some massively stoney bud. im a medical patient, and SD has never helped me much physically, but this stuff did, knock out sedative, full of CBD etc now because the freeze fried out the THC and converted over, it has a messed up taste... it worked out really, as i didnt need all that SD, but the way that turned out it was very useful medically. i tried using dry ice with some AK, and the same thing happened, same taste, same potent knock out feeling.

i dont know how this would work with cured bud, i doubt it would. but if you grow, go for it, as a restless chronic pain mmj meditaker and cultivator i swears this 'll have the effect you are seeking.

if you grow your own, that would be an option, so would letting your plants get old and gold, the affect but done rather by aging the plant. 55-65, go 80 or until the trichomes are 85-90% amber or golden, that means the THC is almost all converted or broken down rather, into CBD. if you leave it too long, the plant will be junk, and start forming useless seeds at the ends of buds/slips.

i do this, but the other way around, BlueBerry just puts me to sleep, i smoke all day all sorts of stuff, but BB and master kush are just buds i avoid because of this. but i grow blueberry, and i harvest it early, like 35 days, after a good veg mind you, and at this point, the THC is still the most prominent psychoactive substance, so there is a good amount of clarity and spaciousness that i like, but also analgesic properties antiinflamatry properties i am after. at this point the buds dry a pastel shades, light pink and peach foam green and a mass of bright trichs.

'sour diesel'

from what i have read - CBD reduces the psychoactive effects of THC a bit making the high less paranoid.. i have also read the CBD helps with schizophrenia so i am very curious to see if isolating that chemical happens pretty soon,..

i have schizoeffective, and in the few 'hard' psychotic episodes ive had, or during a few terrible reaction to antipsychotics. the last crash was through out the summer and into the fall of '08. i would some how manage to roll several joints, go into the bathroom, and smoke like 3 j's of some nice stuff. and after doing so, i couldnt help but get this 3rd persons perspective on the situation, like actually seeing myself.

but the horrifying situation became more clear, and i began regaining some cognitive awareness, not just a bumblingdroolingloon. but some one who unerstood they had schizoeffective and started remebering a few things(which i dont really remember).

if you can start to question if you are crazy, youre on the right path! and thats what helped, in an instant, and i mean i was gone... :| once i got my mmj card, i dropped my 6-8mg klonopin a day gobbling down to 4, then 3, and now sometimes 1-2mg a day, with out even noticing...

but, i dont think its fair to give people mmj who havent been through extensive therapy, and continue to do so, while stabilized on meds if its a clinical conditipon, ptsd, that seems cruel, i know it helps i had/have ptsd, but people should be able to reason with them selves on their own playing field and not breaking through the realitys...

oh man, no spell checky on here the linux box, my spelling is exposed :x

i have a very very good idea for cbd's myself, and it could be freakin priceless.

;)

2) How would you describe the sativa high? i know many people say its more of a trippy and more energetic high . I LOVE the sound of this . Is it kinda like a stimulant effect then ?
I was wondering if its a sort of feeling where you actually want to accomplish things instead of just vegging out on a couch . ? do you feel like talking alot (kinda like amps lol ) ?, etc

I tripppppped the fuck out on the THC weed and it was definitely a satvia . While many enjoy these type of strains , i found that i was too high and my heart was beating fast etc .

I'm confused. You have two threads contradicting each other.

Ok so please dont moan at me and ask why i want to do this , but i have my reasons . ..

I was wondering if there is anyway to just get mostly the CBD out of my weed when i smoke it whilst minimizing my THC intake .

I was wondering if there is any way to do this ? Like a process out there that can pretty much destroy the THC in your weed ......

....Without buying indica weed or growing my own is there any ways ?

Get sativa or hemp weed that has alot of cbd go to vancover seed bank and buy there susmi hemp seeds that have pure cbd.

are you sure about that i think its the sativa strain that has higher cbd and yes the high is better if you wont to laugh at every single little thing smock weed with high cbd liek hemp or sativa strians cbd should be as genuine a name as is thc.

Just so you know, CBD has very little effect without the presence of a fair amount of THC. Plus who wants to get rid of the giggles? Just buy a nice indica strain that was harvested late and enjoy the couchlock. :D

CBD levels

alright i was wondering if anyone knows how to get the THC level lower and The CBD level higher, because everytime i smoke cannabis, i get sick to my stomach or i feel all dizzy and trippy. i just want it to help with my anxiety and stress. and help me more aware and happy every morning. but its so hard to find higher CBD bud. please someone help me:\

Take a landrace such as:

Mazar-i-Sharif
Sheberghan
Parvati
Malana

and take high CBD phenotypes and inbreed them until the CBD trait breeds true. Simples. You preferrably would want a 50/50 THC:CBD phenotype which would then be cloned though, since bud containing mainly CBD will not get you high.

Here are some important temperatures:

At 21°C (70°F) - the most volatile terpenoids start to evaporate, lending a pungent odor to the air.

At 31°C (87°F) - the less volatile terpenoids start to evaporate, lending the air even more pungent odors.

At 39°C (102°F ) - virtually all of the terpenoids undergo evaporation fairly rapidly.

At 50°C (122°F) - THC-Acid decarboxylates as the water molecule held in the carbonate form evaporates. This activates the THC.

At 66°C (150°F) - Cannabidiol (CBD) melts and starts to evaporate.

At 185°C (365°F) - Cannibinol (CBN) boils.

At 200°C (392°F) - THC boils. Clear vapor from a vaporizer.

This info + digital vape = solution. instead of destroying the thc, why dont you just never use it?

Can anyone here touch on this? I'd like to hear first hand experiences on this really bad. I am currently working on becoming a medicinal patient. In canada you quite literally have to jump through flaming hoops 1.5feet in diameter while blindfolded, naked, and having your hands and feet tied up behind you to get the card. But I suffer from severe pain from 2 different medical conditions. I can't take NSAIDs, Opiates do not work to due me being cursed (or blessed) with a natural body tolerance to opiate drugs. Weed is the only thing that works for me, but after smoking weed every single day for years, the paranoia is starting to get the best of me when I'm blazing alone.

If I can hear personal testimonies about vaping it at 185 or something low to get the CBN and CBD without the THC, how it fares for pain etc. It may be the reason I go out and actually spend the few hundred bucks to get a digital vape.

edit:
Would it also then be possible for me to give my vaped weed to one of my poor ass friends who can hardly ever aford weed? Im sure it'll taste like hell but I mean, if the THC is there still, wouldnt it still get him high? My dealer only has trips, usually purple kush (again I live in Canada so its common for dealers to only have high grade weed) so I would imagine if it doesnt destroy the THC, on a strain with a lot of THC, that my vaped weed would work wonders for my friend no?

Here (in one of the mmj states) edibles and extracts containing only cbd have just started to come to market, as well as some strains bred for cbd content.

I know that doesn't answer your ?, but it will be a short time before these products spread to the "grey" market it other states.

I'm from Canada mind you. Weed is basically legal here (i get stopped by a cop who says he smells weed in my truck, pull out 1 bag with a half oz in it, and he'll leave because nothing illegal about that). But we dont have medicinal dispensiaries, or people who make it themselves. Until I'm done university I'm living with my mom, who would prefer I didn't grow my own weed just yet unless its an absolute must. Once I get my own place I plan to grow my own indica dominant strains, cutting late as per suggested here. But thats not for another 4 years or so, and a solution for the time being would definitely be helpful.

On a lighter note, I wish we could buy edibles here. There is SO much weed that if you want edibles you just buy weed and make your own. Dealers dont have time to make edibles, theyre too busy selling the weed hahaha (its Canada, everyone has smoked weed at least once here it seems)

Cannatonic strain:

Ever hear the expression that you can't get 'blood out of a stone'? Why bother with fractional distillation or playing around with vaporiser temps when the amount of CBD is pretty insignificant in the first place? If the CBD allele is not there at the locus, then there's not much point in using the weed to receive significant amounts of CBD. Allowing your weed to mature until plenty of trichomes are amber and curing it properly helps the weed to become better, but you really need to start from ground up and use bud from a plant that has the right genotype and is able to express the CBD allele. Because of the incomplete dominance, a heterozygous genotype with the THC and CBD alleles will produce bud not with mainly THC, but with moderate amounts of THC and moderate amounts of CBD which is what you're looking for, since you would want the therapeutic properties of the main psychoactive componenet, THC as well. The bud won't get you as high as a 1:1 THC:THC genotype, but the qualitative and subjective qualities of the nature of the high will be improved, as will the medical value. Despite a commonly held belief, the CBD will not make the strain more sedating and cause you to become more sleepy. CBD is an anxiolytic (an anti-anxiety agent). It actually produces a lucid effect, a sense of mental clarity, and mild stimulation - it also suppresses some of the effects of THC - such as it stops some of the paranoia.

Seriously, you should grow your own weed. Choose a strain high in CBD. Check out the strain Cannatonic as well as the strains I mentioned. Mr Nice is collaborating with Resin seeds right now to produce some high CBD strains for people wishing to use CBD for medical purposes. Just fuck the permit. As long as you don't tell anyone there's no reason you should get caught if you play your cards right anyway. If you have a genuine illness I don't see why you shouldn't be able to get a permit but I don't know enough about the system to comment admittedly. Persevere if it means that much to you, as that's what the system is there for in the first place, so if there's a genuine need then you shouldn't be refused. You could always do a guerrilla grow, meaning the chances of getting caught would be negligible. Where there's a will there's a way, but merely fiddling about with the temperature using dealer weed will not get you the results you are looking for IMO.

Resin Seeds of Barcelona advanced our cause by contributing seeds of their Cannatonic strain, which had tested at 6% CBD and 6% THC at a lab in Spain. Its name may be misleading, since CBD supposedly cancels the sedating effects of THC... In late June Whitney Eads, RN, MSN, planted 11 Cannatonic seeds which she'd gotten from Clark Metcalfe of Feminine Seeds. They grew into four distinct phenotypes, one of which —the one that turned purple, phenotype 3— was found by two different labs to contain slightly more than 13% CBD, with about half as much THC."

The others Eads describes as "light green, darker green, and a super-sativa with very thin leaves." The super-sativa tested very high in THC —above 20%, with almost no CBD."

Eads' Phenotype 3 won the 2010 Emerald Cup for top CBD content. She hadn't made clones, so there is no “mother plant” from which to reproduce the genetics. Fortunately, Cannatonic seeds are commercially available. Eads plans to plant Cannatonic again next year and “see if I can get it to seed itself." She thinks the elevation of her Northern California garden, close to 3,000 feet, may have had something to do with the CBD levels her plants attained, along with her approach to cultivation: "No additives, just good soil and spring water."

Eads is Dr. William Courtney's RN, and credits him —"and watching western medicine over a 20+ year medical career harm, poison, as well as kill patients in the name of reducing pain or attempting to heal them"— for encouraging her attempts to bring out the full potential of cannabis as medicine. "I am focused on the effect of the changing light spectrum and active plant pigments influencing CBD," she adds, "and other antioxidant properties of marijuana."

If you're growing your own shit, the best (and only way) to increase the CBD levels w/out losing THC (To make a nice balanced hybrid); is to harvest the plant when the Ampules of THC on the leaves and bud are light brown. You will need a microscope for this. It's generally 1.5 to 3 weeks into flowering that this happens.

So if one were to wait say 3-5 weeks after flowering begins, would they be left with weed that has a fairly high CBD/CBN content while losing THC? Sorry if its common sense, I have read a fair amount about growing, but have not actually grown my own...... yet.

Street level dealers generally do not sell edibles here either, unless they are looking to turn a slightly faster profit. It's more efficient to make it yourself in the US unless you happen to live in a MMJ state and have a card (ie: not most of us).

Yea. My main problem is the fact that I'm still in school and thus living with my mother. She is totally ok with me smoking weed, she knows I need it medically and would never stop me. She even buys it for me when I'm short on cash.

Problem is she doesn't want the entire house to smell like weed, which is totally fair. But this means I can't cook up cannabutter, as from what I've read online, it is a very stinky cooking process.

CBD isn't a sedative and doesn't have sedative qualities. This is a straight up myth. However if a myth is repeated time and time again, people will take it as fact. It doesn't really contribute to the high either, apart from putting a damper of paranoia and anxiety. It does have medical properties though. The sedative qualities of your bud are more likel to be a result of terpenes instead.

Harvesting later generally causes CBN levels to increase.
