Hey bluelight gang, was just seeking some information on methadone since I'm thinking about switching to methadone from suboxone. Reason being in that I might not be able to obtain suboxone but might be able to obtain methadone.

I've been doing "heavy" opiates including dope for 2-3 years now but I've never tried methadone for whatever reason.

For someone who's been doing opiates for a while but never methadone, what is the recommended beginning dosage? Especially for someone trying to abstain completely from opiates. Also please keep in mind that I need less than 1/10th of an 8mg suboxone tab to not feel sick from wd.

Another question I have is what specific mg intervals does methadone come in and how much does this typically cost on the street (in a relatively big city)

your going to get reemed for askign prices lol. but if you only need to take 1/10 of a sub to feel ok. your habit is not really all that big and i dnt see much reason in needing subs personally.

hey guys...this thread is on thin ice-for lack of a better saying. Talk of drug testing, price discussion and vague references to Dr. shopping are not allowed in any capacity here. The site focuses on HARM REDUCTION and while I understand your dilemmas,I would suggest you re-read the BLUA. I say this with nothing but love and hope that you understand the rules that are in place here are not only to protect, preserve and promote the site as a HARM REDUCTION community, but to protect you guys from misinformation and possible warnings or infractions for not staying within the guidelines and RULES.
The OD Mods have the final say but it has been brought to our attention.
Good luck to all of you
MUCH peace and love.......................skillz<3

I did not mean to break any rules or cause any disrespect. The pricing question was out of bounds but the other part of the post was me asking what type of procedures to expect when I do go and see a doctor. With all due respect I am trying to obtain a script legally because I need help instead of relying on shaky characters (to say the least) on the street to maintain my problem.

I've been on methadone for over 5 years now, and I can tell you honestly I think it's a bad idea for you to get on methadone. You don't have a very bad habit, and down the line when you want to get off, methadone is VERY difficult to kick. I think you should stick to the suboxone. I didn't really have a choice because my habit was "too high" for suboxone to help me... I'm on 125 mgs. of methadone and to switch to suboxone you need to be on 40 mg. of methadone or less. Anyway- maybe you should consult a doctor from a methadone clinic and see what they say. Be careful though, they might just try to tell you that methadone is the way to go to get you as a client (more money for them)... In the end it's your decision but I would be cautious with the methadone. A lot of people I know (myself included) wish that they never would've gotten on methadone.
