ive tried to stop twice in the past month, and cant make it more than a few days. ive been tapering and can now deal with most symptoms except anxiety, sweating and insomnia. so i was planning on seeing a dr. in the next few weeks to get clonodine ( or something) for the heart rate/anxiety and something else for sleep. valerian doesnt do shit

the main thing im worried about tho is getting my dr. to write a note excusing me from work for something like 10 days. it would need to be discreet/misleading since im not to really into having my employers know my situation. has anyone done this or can offer insight into the likelihood of this happening? im not in the position of being able to lose my job. live alone, no family, not alot saved up

thanks

I think it depends on the relationship you have with your doctor and what he knows of your situation. I did not involve any medical staff when I needed to take off work. I went cold turkey off of oxy's and Vicodin, etc., in 2013, and could not work for 9 days. I had to miss 5 days of work, and I just told them I had the flu, and called in the first two days. I took the last 3 days off with one phone call. I checked my company's time off/sick day policies first, and it stated that we must call in as soon as our facility opened the day we were sick and speak to a supervisor. I did that, and got the time off with no questions.

level with your doctor , he should understand if he seems to like you or know your situation intimately it should be easy.... Honestly though , ten days? ; i found that having to go to work helped me not think about my symptoms so much/ not notice them as much and helped me subsequently get over my withdrawals quicker

The doctor cannot tell your employers what you talk about, but he will likely recommend something else besides just giving you a 10 day note off of work.

How bad is your addiction? Will you even have a job and a place to live if you keep using? These are the questions you need to start asking yourself.

Phish rules by the way, I saw my first show in 98.
