Getting kicked off methadone for being junkie scum

I think brain neurochemistry being irreparably changed is bullshit. I've come off heroin multiple times, and felt completely normal within a month.

The tough part is perhaps dealing with the fact that you may be psychologically irreparably changed :\.

Not me. I've been a daily user for 5 years, and once went 90 days clean.

The acute withdrawals were gone, but I couldnt do SHIT. Couldnt work, couldnt play, my life was garbage without opiates.

HOWEVER, I had trouble functioning in society BEFORE I found opiates.

Some of us naturally have a different brain chemistry that produces less endorphins, such as myself. None of us understand the mind and its chemistry as well as we'd like to think , but I personally know that each person's is different.

I would never get off of opiates, because since being on them, my relationships have improved, my school life, my work life, all improved.

just wonderin why this thread is in here?? seems like not quite the right forum for a q like this but thats just my 2...

op wanted to know how the methadone system in canada worked. i tried moving back to the Europe section lacey but it got bounced back over here.

my bad yo, i didnt see all the movin that went down before. I wasnt tryna criticize nobody i was just curious, but i see ur point now :)

I have posted in ages so this says something. Ive been trying to find someone going through the same thing Im going through.

When ever I stop booting I get the w/d. When I know acute w/d is over the lethargic-feeling still continues strong. I always end up sitting on the couch all day and this is not what Id imagine myself doing all day. A trigger for sure. No matter what bupe dose they put me on I still feel unmotivated and lethargic (20mg daily). Even after 2-3 months sober its still the same. I get the same feeling after a few months clean without subs and few months clean with subs. I suppose they dont work? Its a fucked up cycle I know exactly what will get me up. Than you have t start all over again tommorow.

Well post back I wanna hear some feedback

I think it may be a matter of dosage with the subs. I know you said that they have put you on different doses, but I am thinking maybe you meant higher doses. 20mgs is relatively high for a maintainance dose. It may have been a good dose in the very beginning, but most people have reported having negative affects at high doses. I used to get "hangovers" from bupe and feel very lethargic. It got better when I dropped my dose.

Are you suggesting that the bupe doesn't work for you so you may be considering methadone? I just wasn't completely sure as to what type of feedback you were looking for.

Also, have you checked out the bupe megathread in Other Drugs? http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=499087

If you don't feel like posting in the megathread, you can just post it in OD and it will prob get moved into it, or in Basic DD

In Toronto (Ontario, Canada), methadone costs <snip>/day regardless of dose, you can be on methadone for as long as you want, and you can do other drugs at the same time if you choose, although you wont be allowed to take home doses if you test positive for anything other than weed.

The way health insurance works, you have to live here for 3 months and bring proof of residency (bills delivered to your house) to get on health insurance, I think. Im not sure if the methadone program is open to people without health insurance.

Overall I think Canada would be a much better fit for you, the only trouble is what you would do for the 3 months before you can apply for OHIP (health insurance). I also have no idea how immigration works.

Canada has amazing health insurance, way better than the states or most places. Methadone is cheap as hell I pay<snip>a day for it, going to the doc and hospital or clinic is always free

I think a lot of you guys are forgetting how much physical fitness can help boost and enhance endogenous endorphin production and whatnot.

A lot of you guys say you feel lethargic and foggy and just kinda low without opiates, but I'd like to know how many of you have actually pushed your body into working out..

It's a well known fact that physical exertion enhances the effects and production of endogenous endorphins, perhaps if you have some of these problems you should force yourself to get off your ass and do some cardio every day.

I personally plan to sign up to the local gym within the next few days and I'm definitely going to do some laps in the swimming pool every day to enhance my endorphin production.

Also weight lifting helps a lot too since it boosts endogenous testosterone production, which has it's own capabilities of making you feel good, such as more energy, more libido, enhanced mood.

I'm of the opinion that if everyone made the effort to get into fitness and boost endorphin and testosterone production, perhaps there would not be a need for anti-depressants.

I thought ppl got put ont methadone for being a jjunkie lol

Many programs have drug testing after you get on methadone or suboxone, to make sure you're not slipping up. So you can just as easily get kicked off methadone for being a junkie just as quick as you got put on it. Just a cruel reality of treatment programs.
