Getting high alone

I was introduced to most drugs by my bf and we used to get high together. Now he isn't interested anymore, and I still am. But I have a hang-up about doing drugs by myself. Maybe I need to just get over it. Do you like getting high alone, or do you prefer to save it for when there are friends around?
 
To be honest, I think that I prefer getting high alone, but having one or two close friends around is OK too.

I think that my problem is I am into "other drugs" while most of my close friends are into smoking pot. I hate pot. I hate that pot changes my entire perspective. It makes me anxious and paranoid, so, needless to say, I don't smoke much pot.

I like pain killers, and pain killers are not really the cool thing to do in my circle of friends. Those friends who are cool with it but will not try it for themselves, well, they'll smoke pot, and I'll blow down a couple of lines. But then it's really awkward, because I can't relate to their high and they can't relate to mine.

So I guess that I like getting high alone, maybe with others, but definitely not with someone else who is taking a different substance.
 
I like doing opiates by myself, and also like doing them with friends who are opiate-savvy. Many people don't know what's up with opiates and are generally scared of them, so I wouldn't whip them out and get high in front of other people who don't know what's up.

"They say you don't have a problem, till you start bringin it home" - That's a quote from a great band The Hold Steady....if you want to keep your using under control, watch how much you do it by yourself. Believe me, you will become very comfortable with using opiates by yourself very quickly.
 
Opiates alone, I can see. Stims though? I think when you're all worked up and want to talk it would be more fun to have people around to talk to. What do you do when you're on them alone?
 
opiates alone are nice because you dont have some asshole blwing your buzz by talking to you when you just want to nod the fuck out.

However, there are some who see using alone as a step in the wrong direction. I would equate it to day drinking in the eyes of some.
 
I've only smoked a couple times by myself, but it's very relaxing and is a nice change from doing it with even one other person. I think everyone should try it, especially those who are against it/think it's pathetic to do drugs alone (as some of my friends think).

I've also taken pills by myself, but that's usually because a good amount of my friends don't like to do scripts. I think anything that puts you in a calm, euphoric state is fun to do alone, because you can just lay back and enjoy it.

But for the likes of e and other stimulants, and alcohol, in my opinion, are more fun with other people. Makes you even higher, amongst everyones good vibes.

Same. Company is nice, but for those very special experiences, solitude is bliss ... get lost in the music and the drug! :)

Cocaine, for example, is a very selfish drug. You can sniff yourself into euphoria all on your own, and you'd love the fact that you don't have to share.

Other drugs are perhaps more fun in a social setting, such as GHB and MDMA. However, it can be enjoyed in private as well ... or taking the drug, and walking down the high street ... sit in a coffee shop ... and smile at people on public transport. Fun! =D
 
i smoke weed every day by myself for the most part (smoke with others about 10% of the time)

I also do most "harder" drugs alone (consume them around people, but not while someone else does them too)
 
Personally, I don't judge anyone who does drugs alone. However, there are some drugs I'll do alone and others I won't, mostly because of the nature of the drug. Drugs I'll do alone are weed, kratom, nitrous, JWH, and occasionally a 5-meo-DALT trip. Drugs I almost always do with other people are alcohol, ecstasy, acid, MDAI, shrooms, salvia, and stims. When I do drugs alone, it's at night 99% of the time and I like being able to get to sleep. Also, drinking alone makes me feel kinda lame, and I feel that rolling alone would be a waste of money and brain cells, considering the point of it (to me) is to be in love with everyone you're with. I'd be afraid to do acid or shrooms alone, as talking about the experience with someone feels almost necessary to me.

Really, do what you feel like and don't worry about the stigma of it. Just be careful not to develop a habit you don't want. I'm alone on kratom as I write this.
 
I don't really like being really high by myself. I'm fairly social, but back when I was severely addicted I didn't care, as long as I got mine.
 
Seem like most peeps agree, it largely depends on the drug and your history with it.

When it comes to E, I can't even imagine doing it solo, has to be a communal experience. Same with booze. But yeah, opiates I can understand the draw of doing it by yourself... I think it would be nice to share it with a "special someone" one of these days, but what are the odds of meeting a girl who's interested in "going to movies, Chinese food, rockabilly music and shooting dilaudid."
