Getting echoes everytime I take psychs

I use to take psychedelics since a long time now, but since 2 months everytime I trip I get echoes from every single sound around me... It is not properly echoes, but kind of phlangers or phaser disturbing repetitive sound that totally ruin the trip.

I had the exact thing happen to me on two blotters of very potent LSD... as you said it ruined the whole trip. I'm curious as as to why this happened as well. Is there any explanation?

Interesting, I wouldn't know why it happens (I don't think there's some specific, known mechanism to resort to for explanation). Try going on a break from tripping to see if it resolves the issue.

Though I am curious, why does it ruin the experience? Does it just go contrary from what you want/expect from psychs?

One popular theory of how psychedelics work involves them modulating perceptual feedback loops. Essentially they are thought to increase amplification in your body's sensory processing circuits that causes resonance or other distortion. This is what is thought to cause "trails", "tracers", "crawling surfaces" et cetera.

TL;DR - it's normal, taking less of your psych will help.

If sound and vision are connected, as Newton thought, you could do some experiments to see how the echoes change with eyes open or closed -- exploration of perception is the name of the game!
I don't think that taking less is a good idea at anytime. =D Confront it head on -- DMT blast off!

i love this effect though if it happens to me every single time i might find it annoying too, i used to get it alot from when i used inhalants - ether, chloroform, toulen and nitrous all do it, the only psychedelic i get it from is DiPT but not as strongly

Inhalant echoes are great:
ah-ha
ah-ha
ah-ha
ah-ha

Looks like a donkey, but you know what I mean! -- I find it interesting that they are so-similar with nitrous, ether, and butane (foolish -- the latter one, so I hear-- and read.)

A friend of mine gets intense aural distortions on psychedelics, particularly phenethylamines. He reports it similarly to you, as an intense feedback delay effect which manifests more as an audio flanging, like alien type sounds. He to finds it somewhat disturbing, although it hasn't put him off using psychedelics. I have experienced something similar on a few high dose trips.

I think once you attach a particular emotional reaction to a phenomenological event, you begin to reinforce that emotional reaction every time it occurs. You may be more sensitive than others to the aural aspect of psychedelics, and it may be that you are not used to dealing with how fiercely it grabs your attention. We rely mostly on our sense of sight to navigate the world, and when another sense such as hearing or smell is suddenly ramped up in intensity it can be somewhat overwhelming at first.

Just try not to obsess about it every time you trip, so that you can break the cycle of reinforcing it. It ruins the trip because you let it do so, by obsessing. There is nothing inherently wrong with the sounds, and you can make friends with them if you want. Just listen and be mindful of what feelings they evoke, and allow them to move through you without attaching your mind to them. Watch as they dissolve in to something very pleasant and synaesthetic.

I also experience wild audio distortions whilst on high doses of psychedelics, but I allow them just be as part of the experience.

In past, sometimes I have get some beautiful phasers when on hight dose trip listening to music, something like hear in 3D if you understand me. This thing is totally different. The strange echo/flanger doesn´t let me hear properly, for example, I listen the music as of a scracthed vinyl way. When people talk to me, I can´t understand due the amount of bizzarre sound, and even I can´t talk properly because I hear myself totally distorted in this echo/flanging way. Its completely disgusting. The doses Im talking are so slight that I don´t even get visuals (with 2c-b, 2c-e)

It started happening in a time when I was on selegiline, so I thought it was the phens interacting with it. So I stopped taking selegiline one month ago approx. This weekend, one friend has bring 5-meo-dipt. I was sure that been a triptamine, there would not be interaction, but at 1-2 hours point, the echoes has appear again until the end of the trip.

Im on very low dose venlafaxine as well (50mg/day and tappering down), but Im pretty sure it doens´t interact as I have tripped lot of times with high venla dose without consecuences.

When the phenomenon starts, it use to go accompanied with a negative/dark feeling, that could be due the "shit, it´s coming" from my part or not, I can´t be sure, but I think it´s part of the whole.

Any suggestion will be welcomed. Thank you so much, guys.
