Getting drunk and...

I don't normally drink alcohol but obviously I've gotten smashed on more than a few occasions, but usually I just do drugs instead.

I'm bored and there's nothing to do tonight, and I came upon some booze.

I was wondering if getting a little drunk by yourself is any fun? And also, if watching movies while drunk is enjoyable?

Or do you just not have the attention span for stuff like that?

I'm only an occasional social drinker and have never ever drank while alone.

It depends. Most people find alcohol is a better social drug.

It's personal choice really. Some people like drinking alone, others only in company; drinking alone has a bad stigma which isn't entirely deserved I think as long as it isn't a regular thing, but be careful you don't end up drinking daily and developing a problem. A lot of people find it is better to save alcohol for social occasions but the odd solo drink isn't too bad IMO. Probably not a good idea to get hammered on your own though, and be aware that it is easy to slip into depressed-drunk, and probably more likely if you are alone.

I don't tend to get drunk-drunk on my own and I usually find I'd rather be interacting in some way (chatting to people online etc) than watching a film if I do have a drink or two.

Can be fun. Though I hardly ever drink. And when I drink alone, exceedingly rare, I usually end up talking to people online or posting on forums. So not really alone. There is something nice about being alone with no one bothering you when you're drunk doing your own think. All good unless it becomes a too common habit.

Alcohol is just another drug in my eyes. You can do it alone, and some things that are fun to do while alone and drunk, just like there are some things that are fun to do while on drugs and alone...but...

I still think both drugs and alcohol are more fun when used socially.

I find a good brew or two alone very relaxing for watching tv, a movie, or the like. More than that I don't care for personally though. It just lends itself to much too lonely of a feeling to be enjoyable. As with anything though, everyone is different.

Alcohol and simple films like Die Hard, or other action films go well together, I don't like drinking and watching films that make you think because it seems to ruin the film, I like to be sober for most films.
