Getting clean off dilaudid

Hello, recently * had major stomach surgery and was prescribed 180 4mg hydromorphone/dilaudid. Stupidly due to my needle addiction * decided he was going to IV them. So over the course of two weeks * used the whole script doing 40mg daily. * wants to get off them and was wondering how to do so properly and what to expect. Rehab is out of the question and * can't get into a maintenance doctor until next week to get prescribed suboxone. Swim will be getting a couple suboxone from a source to help with withdrawals, plus he has seroquel and a few other anti anxiety Meds and over the counter sleeping pills. Is the short period of use a good thing? Any info would be super helpful to *.


EDIT: took out the swims.. we don't use them at BL as they provide no legal protection, hope you are doing well wrongturn.

I don't fully understand this forum yet so please don't smite me if I did something improper, I'm sick already, very uncomfortable and just would like some help which I'm assuming is partially the point here.
 
Hey Wrongturn.. I'm just going to send you my love at this point<3 you are doing great.. remember the addiction will use all emptions http://www.sonoma.edu/users/s/swijtink/teaching/philosophy_101/paper1/listemotions.htm to try and drive you to use plus all the other physical symptoms you have. REMEMBER no matter what you are AWESOME! and look at any thoughts you are having for validity.. just because you have strong emotion with a thought doesn't make it real, write it down and think about it.. you will be thinking CRAZY this goes away quick and things get so much better quick.. your doing great hang in there.. if you tell us the intake we can tell you when you will get over the hill.. your amazing and you are doing great!! Please consider clonodine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clonidine.. if it is proper for you it could be a HUGE positive.. hang in there.. You can walk out of hell in a few days.. this is temporary and you are so close to living a free life.. fight fight fight:X
 
I have used but never had an addiction where I used constantly just a here and there kind of thing.

I was addicted to IV hydromorphone for 2 1/2 years - I've been clean since 3/3/13. And I 110% agree with cold turkey- this is what I did and had success with it.

Could you tell me what it was like? How long it lasted? Cause this is what I'm dealing with already, I use 8mg per shot and shoot about 3-5 times a day, within about 6-8 hours I already feel the withdrawals coming on and it's hell. So I'm just wondering how long I have to stick it out? Also is it safe?
