SO where to begin. Well I was on 80mg of methadone until 13 days ago. I got the shits with the liquid handcuffs so bullshitted my doc that i had a month long holiday and he gave me a month supply. Had a few fun experiences taking more than was prescribed and popping xanax before filtering and shooting the physeptone through a canula and 10 gauge barrel. Any how, got over that pretty quick. Decided I want to be clean.

I have a pack of 7 8mg suboxone tablets from when I was on it a year ago. But I knew if i had one while on methadone it would be a mighty precipitated withdrawal for methadone is a long acting opiate. So I obtained a large amount of oxycodone and MS-Contin and got well fucked up on that for 10 or so days until the methadone was out of my body. My last dose of oxy was 560mg iv (my tolerance was so high because of the methadone). I waited 12 hours - basically when i woke up to try out some suboxone - 2mg to start. Waited an hour. No Precipitated withdrawals came, so then had another 2mg. I also took 150ug clonidine, several valiums, 2mg xanax, 4mg loperamide, melatonin, paracetamol (to stop gut pains), i dunno about 10 mg clonazepam and went to sleep. Did this regimen of other helpful drugs several times over the past three days.

Over the course of 48 hours after my last oxy/grey nurse I took 14mg suboxone in little bits every few hours then hid the pack so i wouldnt be tempted to take any more. I also dosed more benzos, clonidine, paracetamol and loperamide as time went on. I was in a nice little daze with nothing but RLS. Also I didn't eat food for the past three days - took appetite suppressent to help with that - reason for this was i didn't want my organs doing any work while I was detoxing.

It is now day four and I have no withdrawals at all. I'm about to go to the gym to have a run and steam room. But I feel great! My emotions are coming back. My love for music - Jimi Hendrix sounds amazing!!

So I guess you would consider this as high dose bupe then no more...? I have seen that theres different groups of ways of using the bupe i.e. slow taper, one off dose etc.

I hope this helps someone coz I was totally fucked a week ago. Have faith, you can do it. Just find the right mix thats going to get you through the withdrawals. ;)

Peace!

So are you still taking bupe now? I am trying to stop myself, currently using bout 3.5g per day n fkn over it hard.i have naltrexone pills which I was considering to crush up and pops bit ata time.
Reading your experience I am wondering actually how many days did u spend drying out? Or are u on bupe ow and not the done?

If you think that you avoided withdrawal from 14mg of sub i wouldn't get too cozy it can hit you up to a week later, but I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

This sounds more like a blog.

PS: You're not outa the woods yet my friend. you're nearly peaking your head out of the woods right now. 560 dose is outragous,! sheesh but congrats on quitting methadone. are you going to maintain on suboxone or taper down and quit them as well

Btw taking appetite suppressants while withdrawing so your "organs don't do any work while detoxing" is non sensical and ludicrous. Feed your body. Good, healthy, whole foods. Our body needs them now more than ever. Healthy food FUELS the body during times of stress, it doesn't tax it.

Yeah seriously, you purposefully didn't eat for 3 days? You know the lack of nutrients will make your withdrawals exponentially worse right? Not to mention it's horrible for you. You need food to survive... like you didn't want your organs to do any work but if you want them to work at all you should eat. And you're horribly wasting the buprenorphine along with your benzos and clonidine. You should do an actual quick taper with the suboxone (call me crazy, but it would be much more pleasant) and then use the clonidine/benzos when you're taking very low doses/no buprenorphine at all. You're currently not having withdrawals and feel good because you took 14 milligrams of suboxone in a short period of time, not long ago. It has a long half life... If you seriously think you're done with withdrawals from buprenorphine on day 4, you're kidding yourself. Your withdrawals should just be starting ha.

I am still clean. Still got RLS until I go to the gym for a run on the treadmill - this helps massively. And the steam room to help sweat all the shit out helped massively. Of course I was not well enough until after at least a few days. I still have the runs and that will apparently hang around for weeks to months but hey I'm clean and loving it.

Your using 3.5g of hammer?? Ok get your hands on bupe (8mg pills better and only take one or two for the first 48 hours then cut it off), benzos, clonidine and prepare a room where you can chill for a few days. Having movies and a laptop will help massively...and music lots of music! You have to distract yourself.

Trust me this worked for me and my habit was huuuge. I went to the doctor the other day and he he was amazed I had detoxed of 80mg methadone in less than 2 weeks....

Still clean mate!! I do still have RLS and the runs buts thats the life of getting clean and i have to live with it for now.

Thanks for your concern. I took suboxone for only the first 48 hours then cut it off and hit the benzos and rest i mentioned for a few days. Still clean now...

Haha, what I was wondering. Must have been a typo..

Anyway, this was probably better suited for a blog as you're not really posing any questions.... but I'll leave it open in case some discussion breaks out.

You are right my friend. It was a typo i meant micro grams...

they come as catapress in the states too it's very good you decided to get clean shooting 560mg of oxy is nuts and i thought i was bad shooting 450mg

Thanks for your concern. But I avoided hitting the toilet every five minutes by doing this. I did keep up my fluids. I was taking multi vitamins also....I am now eating wholesome foods mostly salad and fruit. And daily gym - run, weights, steam room.......

Thanks for your concern mate. But my method worked. Used bupe only for the first 48 hours then stopped. It actually was the easiest detox i have ever done and I have been to 7 or 8 rehabs that did this "slow taper shit". Hell last time I was on 100mg of methadone it took me 6 months to get off. And when i was on 16mg of bupe/suboxone the rehab "slow tapered me for 6 weeks!!! That just prolonged my agony...never again. Please excuse me, but I say fuck that method. Rehabs are a money making machine. If someone wants to get clean they will do it themselves.

LOL yes we are bad bad people ;)

That was twice a day mind you. With xanax and valium on board. It was s shit way of living and i am not going back there....

Good luck :)

Suboxone is a miracle drug for opiate addicts - even high dose addicts like myself. But use it wisely or you will prolong your agony. I doubt MOST doctors would recommend my method but hey you pay to see doctors and information on the internet is free. I suggest looking at multiple medical sites - you know the ones with papers written about detoxing patients. Thats what I did. I got my information, made a plan and stuck to it at all costs.

(edit) Shit i forgot to mention if you do the minimal/no food thing use multi-vitamins....And if you go to the steam room/sauna in first week watch out for head spins and fainting, i nearly dropped a few times during my first days doing this...

Good luck friends.

hmm after being on suboxone for a long period though there's PAWS, Im almost wishing I just w/d off the heroin instead. Im almost thinking of switching back to a full-agonist like dope, titrating and then using etizolam, or maybe then take sub again for a few days. either ways, long-term sub maintence seems to be generally agreed upon that w/d's last for months. Im not looking forward to this. wish I woulda quick tapered off the suboxone, if only I knew I would have gotten dropped from state- insurance :/
