Getting back on Adderall

I've been on Adderall for years, always worked great for me. I was off of it for two years and just recently got back on it. I was taking two 20 mg a day, one in the morning and one in the middle of the afternoon. The doctor prescribed me 20 mg for 30 days to start off with since I've been off it for so long. The first day it worked great. Then I started experiencing all the side effects, fast heart, chest pains, numbness in hands, legs, face, my body would get the chills, they were intense. I've never had them before. I've had to be off Adderall before for a period of time due to childbirth and had no problem getting back on it. Then I tried taking two like I normally do and I feel fine. So now I'm back to two. Is this normal?

are you telling me that you feel these side effects when you take less? some of these symptoms are indicative of problems relating to cardiac stress. please explain this to your doctor. could possibly be your body crying out for more peripheral stimulation. i've heard people say this when they switch from adderall to dexedrine.

You should ask for a less stimulating medication if you think it's too stimulating; simple. Without more information it's just speculation.

As others have said... this is a very subjective issue and there may be an underlying problem that neither anyone on bluelight, or yourself, are aware of.

Nobody on here can advise you on this matter, and really, this is one for your doctor.
