Yesterday I went to an open practice for my colleges volleyball team. It was my first one and it kicked my ass. It was two hours long but I only made it through the first hour and felt maybe that was even pushing it a little bit.

Like I said I have lupus. I had an old post about how terrible I was feeling and no one really knew why t it turned out to be lupus. So, these pains have been going on for about 7months and have been pretty constant and bad so I haven't felt well enough to exercise, granted I haven't worked out since the fall. Last year I was in pretty decent shape, but definitely not anymore.
I'm currently in a flare up and have been for the past week but felt okay at the beginning of the practice. Then everything started hurting...and as e night wore on until today this morning now, it just got worse.

So my question is what would be the best route for me to start getting back in shape withh the lupus? I know I have to start slow.
I'm 20 years old female 5'8 and currently at 145lbs...am normally around 135-140 but was sick and stopped taking vyvanse so I ate like a pig for a week and a half lol.

Just start really slow as you know. Do You you have a stationary bike by any chance? this is what i use for my wreaked knees and its very easy on the joints. I suggest against weights. Do body weight stuff like push ups, sit ups, dips, etc. Yoga would be a good idea too. As for keeping your weight low eat fruit, veggies, lean protein and a low amount carb. These things will help with lupus im sure.

The most import thing is don't get discouraged if you can't do what you used to. This will lead you do nothing and thats the worst thing you can do. I know from my own life. Im 24, and used to be very in shape because i was in the army and an avid weightlifter. When i blew my knees id given up but now im doing everything i said to get back in shape.

Good luck.
