what is the best way to get a script for xanax out of your doctor?
I heard that you should talk of anxiaty(sp)attacks and trouble sleeping is there anything else that I could say that could help?

At the end of 1998 I got put on xanax (alprazolam) on 2mg a day for panic attacks, anxiety, and a post trauma.
Half way through 2001 and I still can't throw off the remaining 0.5mg.
Sure I've cut down heaps and its a very small dose, but i cant kick that last 0.5mg.
If you want some fun? Take a drug you CAN and WILL only take occaisonally. Thats my $0.02. You wanna get hooked on something that will make you sleep all day? Go ahead get a script for xanax.

First, if you're under, say, 25 - your chances of getting ANY amount on yer first few vists is slim to none... Xanax isthe most "feared" benzo by any medical professional - yes, it is short acting and addictive, withdrawal can be fatal...
So, ya dance in there - whatdo you say? First off, your best bet of getting any benzo is to ask for an anti-depressant... say you feel worthless, sad, cant sleep, etc... you will get something like Zoloft or Trazadone.... take that script with a smile.... now, wait about 2 weeks andcall back - say the meds help you GREATLY but you are more "edgy" and would "likesomething to calm down" - it is VERY COMMON to get an anti-d with a benzo... shit, I begged for something for months, and got NOTHING... soon as Iwas put on Paxil I was given a total of 2mg Ativan per day.... see, the anti-d JUSTIFIES the anxiety which warrants the benzos...
If you wanna go in and try to talk yerself into just the benzos - well, complain of ACUTE anxiety or panic attacks... 75% chance you get and SSRI or some shit... oh, and 2mg "Xanax Bars"are NOT COMMON! You're more likely to start at .5mg or so.. but as they say, "half a loaf....."
