Get Lucky Again - 3/20/04 - !!**MOVED TO THE MUNI IN HARTFORD CT**!!

i wanted to see the asylum for the first time :(. anyone have any details on how big 'the muni' is? in comparison to a new york club?. this blowssssssss. you guys make it sound like we're gonna be packed like sardines in there.

hey i gots me a question.... WHATS MUNI?.... they say the djs are not MAIN... BACK .. and SIDE.... is it big enough that you wont hear all three performances at the same time... i dont to go it im goin to be confused all night..... also.. is the dress code and all that fun stuff still the same?

Smells like bullshit to me.

I'm guessing they knew all week it wouldn't be at the Asylum, but just didn't want to lose ticket sales.

I wonder if Asylum is even gonna reopen... sounds like the city of Springfield wants it to disappear; it has been a thorn in their side since its been open. I hope that doesn't happen, but we'll see....

that would be sad..

I hope is just that the people they had to contract to fix shit, just couldn't come in before tomorrow.

*ears perk up* Did someone say bar? If I can drink at this venue I'll be a lot happier to go there. Yay for beer!!

Also, about how small is it compared to the Asylum? And how many rooms?

ok, the muni has 3 rooms of sound, true will be bringing in extra sound for this event!!! you don't have to worry about the sound bleeding between rooms, we've never had a problem.

and if you are worried about the people, there has been over a thousand at the muni before, yes it will be packed.

when we start to get over 500 people in the club it gets a little stuffy but it is managable, and yes, there is a bar. for those over 21 of course ;)

oh and by the way, i am no way affiliated with true productions or columns of knowledge productions i work for the municipal, check out my post about the world of drum and bass when it was changed to the muni

there is no dress code.

its right on main street in hartford across the street from the library, if you miss us, well you shouldn't be the one who is driving in the first place then

it is my knowledge that presale tickets will still be honored for this event and the prices will remain the same. if you have a problem with that then why don't you try and throw a party that costs over $30,000, dj's, lights, venue, lasers, sound, security and other staff, it's all gotta be paid for and it all adds up very quickly

I am once again excited for this party after reading the posts by KayDUB and Eddie Bunker. Thanks guys! You are absolutely right, and I will keep an open mind about the venue.

This week has been shitty so I'm not gonna let the party suck, too. I'm looking forward to some good music and dancing. And beer. =D

Why should we throw our own party if we have a problem with that? I paid for my ticket in knowing that I was going to be going to the Asylum for Get Lucky Again, with plenty of room to dance, and plenty of room to have fun and not suffocate. I heard that the World Of Drum N Bass was packed and this party is twice the size of that...FUN!..not. If I can't fucking move my body because they decided to change to a venue that couldn't hold nearly as much as the Asylum, they should compensate for the difference.

Why not reschedule the event? That's worked in the past why not now? Instead let's throw it in a club thats capacity can't handle the number of patrons anticipated for the event. *twirls finger*

Doozer and frank, I know you're mad because you bought tickets, but you should try to view it from the side of the promoter....

Main acts often pass through, and you only have a window of time to book them, so rescheduling often is not possible. Also, you usually have to pay a certain amount, if not all of the fee upfront, which means that if you cancel you lose out on a lot of money.

I am sure they worked very hard to try to open the Asylum in time for the event. It isn't their fault, but rather the city of Springfield seems to be giving them the shaft. So Im guessing that in order to not lose out on a lot more money, and piss a lot more people off, they moved it to another club. If they have the sound set up right for all the rooms, then that will give more room. Not as much as the Asylum of course, but what else can you do?

I hope you can see it from their side a bit now.

For those that doubt I learned we couldn't use Asylum @ 2PM Thursday. I spent all day Thursday searching for larger options than Muni. This was truly the best choice given all options. Sorry

Its ok the Muni is cool and i was just there about an hour ago, at audio assult and it was really good, although for get lucky it will be packed, hell i had a little trouble with dance space tonight at such a small show while get lucky will be huge and tight, fuck that although the Muni ai'nt bad its just innaproiate for such a large show!

*teetering on the idea of making an appearance* it's just so darn close to home.... i guess i can roll out and hop in for a bit... last time i was there and it was crowded it wasn't so much fun, then i was also in a bad mood... it's pretty much subjective. so.....
we'll see!

One more question: Is smoking permitted at the Muni?

The only thing that worries me is the size of the crowd, since I can sometimes get a little claustrophobic if I'm surrounded by people bumping into me and pushed up against me on all sides. Ahhhhhh well...I am gonna make the best of this, dammit! I think the lineup will be worth it.

smoking is not allowed inside the bar area, per connecticut state statute. gotta love connecticut. if you have a wristband or picture id you are allowed re-entry. so there will be plenty of oppurtunities to get fresh air, or smoke one to lung cancer.

it was said before, complaining on a public message board will get you no where. everyone should feel as though they are lucky this party has been moved it could have just been cancelled.

and frank, i think you missed my point. the cost of this party could have bought you a very nice luxury car. as already posted by chrissie, most of the headliners are on tour, they play the east coast tonight, maybe miami tomorrow, fly to cincinatti, then to phoenix, you get the idea. there is only a small window as to when to headliners can perform, and may be only a day. rescheduling is not an option, get lucky again, will not be get lucky again without any of the headliners. if you want your money back that bad then email either cok or true, complaining on a board is just wasting bandwidth for those that want to know what they can expect/where they can meet up/ when their favorite dj is playing. in other words the original purpose for such a forum in the first place.

if you have any more questions or comments about the muni and the muni only!!! i am not affiliated with true or cok and i cannot answer any of their questions. then either pm me by 12:00 noon or call me if you know my number. or you can instant message me at mtnbke9781.

^^^^
What if I just have a question about like, the birds and the bees or help with homework? Can I still call you?

In all seriousness folks, tonight is an opportunity to make something out of nothing and have a fu*@ing blast doing it! I hope to see you all there
