Is this safe to take still? I've read alot about how everything just loses potency after expiration date, but never heard of them talking about a syrup. This bottle was stored quite properly but it's just old. Is this safe to take? Even if it was a recommended dose would it be safe? The inner contents look like a normal liquid with nothing weird going on ( wouldn't know if there was color distortion though ). So is it safe? I understand the risk many of you will explain and use the whole "just say no" speech, but that's not necessarily what this post is about. So please, any useful information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is safe to take. The syrup may have lost some of its potency due to being past the expiration date by a number of years though. It won't make you ill or anything if you drink some. Happy sippin' (on some sizzurp).... =]

Be careful to limit your intake because of Guaifenesin.

I only need 120-140mg of codeine and I'm happy, and they make 1200mg of guaifenesin so I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear even if I were to take a recreational dose. I appreciate the help guys, you'll actually give me peace of mind when I take it ( regardless of how much cause it wouldn't matter ) instead of letting anxiety haunt me lol.
