I’ve been taking generic ir’s for over a year now and have tried all different brands. After my tolerance reaching an amount of 120 mg throughout the day I decided it would be best to quit, yet after a month I decided to start back up, thinking my tolerance would have went back down. I figured I could manage my intake better this time around. After taking the first one since the break I hardly felt anything. It was the Teva 20 mg tabs I believe (b973). Does anyone know why these pills literally do nothing? I mean they feel so dirty. In the first 30 minutes I feel odd chest pains and heart flutters and then it all goes away. Even after re-dosing shortly after there is no effect. Typically I can feel the effects kicking in with my heart rate picking up but I don’t even feel any changes. Wondering if anyone else is having the same experience or any advice? What’s the best brand out there? Honestly wish I could find what made me fall in love with stimulants in the first place. That being Dexmethylphenidate, but no one seems to have it anymore. I’m pretty confident I would start feeling normal again if I could switch to a different stimulant because these generics feel like I’m taking some gas station adderall. I’d appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Hey dude I’ve not got much experience with Generics, I’ve always had named brands and also take a different drug (Methylphenidate)

Anecdotally I can remember seeing bits and pieces that the US allows a decent margin of error in potency with generic medication which is a bummer.

But I’d personally say (and you can ignore if you don’t want unsolicited advice..)

1. Your dose before was very high,
Although there’s leeway for “limits” on prescribed dosages for ADHD I still feel it’s best to utterly stay as close to them as possible, as the drug will begin to have more sides that far as I’m aware you don’t get tolerance to.

Your break was less than 3 months so I speculate your receptors and monamines haven’t fully reached natural homeostasis.

This may lead to unpleasant effects even on a reduced dose but still sounds quite bad for a months break.

2. Stimulants require lots of conditions, micronutrients and adequate quality of carbs, fats and proteins, deep restorative sleep that’s consistent, consistent exercise and dosing them in a regiment that stays utterly consistent.

Whenever I don’t meet my “standards” say with sleep or diet, my stimulant is less effective, and the sides are way worse.

I can’t expect anyone to dish out lots of money on supplements, but the most effective cheap stack is VitD3 with K2, Magnesium Gylcinate and Omega 3.

If you want more specific autstic info let me know.

3. If you’re taking stimulants medically, they have a consistent therapeutic window for a decent amount of people, providing the above is met, but you cannot expect further.

My stimulants now compared to week 1 are different.

18mg Methylphenidate gave me complete silence and calm rivalling any monk, I could quite literally stare into space for hours and not feel the need to do anything else.

A few months on a much higher dose (77mg) that is now stable gives me a much more consistent and appropriate treatment of symptoms.

It gives me an acceptable homeostasis, where my impulsivity is managed, my thoughts are quiet and I can direct them, and I can focus very well once I make an effort. I’m not getting the distinct silence and euphoria I once did.

It’s individual but if you try your best, you can see if you can get the homeostasis effect I’ve seen others discuss. It’s only my anecdote and others but I have found that 2 months later on the end of titration there’s been no dip.

Happy to answer whatever else I can if needed.

That’s the same brand I normally get and I can’t complain. But for some reason the ones I feel that hit hardest mg for mg are the ones that say E 404 I think or something. And have 4 splits. They are the 30mg ones but my pharmacy never carry’s them but I will say the teva addy 30mg don’t hit no where near as hard as those do. Or maybe it’s in my head idk lol.

somehow I just found like 50 psychometric tests being done by whatever to us here, I dont think it cares if it exists no offense if am wrong, one can never be to careful

Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is VERY Euphoric & Pleasurable….Focalin too

Adderall & Vyvanse gave me heart palpitations and felt cardio stress

d-MPH / Ritalin & Focalin are pure Cocaine, except more potent mg to mg and 100% pharma grade and not cut shit
