General Methadone Discussion v. Why the Hell Not?

only have 1 film and 1 and a half 8MG pills left, so not much. I am hoping I can grab more off my friends if need be. have a few who are scripted that could help me out but not w/ much, just a few 8MG pills here and there.

will I be able to go from bupe to methadone or will I have to make sure to piss dirty for dope? I havent done dope since Saturday, which is not that long ago but I prob. wont go to the clinic to piss till Wednesday and I am hoping NOT to do anything between now and then.

That part I don't remember, honestly. I know my last suboxone doctor, upon induction flat out told me that if I don't piss dirty he can't treat me. Information like this should be made available to you via the clinic, perhaps call them?

I am coming off a decent run and I am broke as fuck; so scoring dope//getting money for dope is going to get tough/whacky. ill be first to admit, if I had the $$ and could use forever and a day, then I would most likely be doing that, but I am going broke and putting myself in a fucking hole and a half. already had a ton of BAD shitting happen to me because of addiction and not looking for more at this point, which is why I want to get to the clinic. I tried rehab and to get clean before and came out on the bottom; I dont have time to go down that road again. I am willing to give the clinic a chance and see how this plays out. it seems I hear nothing but bad things but I just look at what I am up to daily and it is nothing but bad things as is, so why not do something thats legal for once.

At least it'll give you a chance to catch your breath.Just don't get complacent and stay longer than necessary(which could be six months or ten years,no judgment here,it's wateva works for you).Just step back everyonce in a while to consider where you're at.And personally I'd go with the lowest dose you are comfortable with and remember it's not a pissing contest but there's always a couple idiots that wear their high dose like a badge.dumb fucks. I don't know how I fucked up this post,sorry.

only taking 4-8MG/day depending how I feel. back when I was scripted I was taking 16/MG/day and was down to about 4-8/MG before relapsing and leading to a steady dope run. this time I am broke, want to stop, build a "normal" life and see how this treats me for a bit.

how will the first few weeks be? I am coming off a gram a day habit and was a shooter. usually split my shots up morning and afternoon, or afternoon and night. would take me anywhere from 24-36hrs before feeling dope sick. I was on a Suboxone program about a year back and start w/ 16MG and it worked great for me; as time went out I tapered the dose a bit too fast and around 6-8/MG/day I ended up relapsing and then went on a solid 4 month run from there.

It definitley does not take one to two months to get in like was said before about in canada. I assume since canada has publicly funded healthcare the wait list is much longer, the one advantage the US has is little to no wait time for health care (if you can afford it).

Anyway, here i CA they intake and dose you the same day. I was in at 5:00, did all the paperwork, doctor got in at 6, talked to him met my counselor, dosed and was out the door by 7:00. Its 225/moth but at my clinic they required 100$ upfront to avoid it being a junkies get well quick fix option. The next mo th you can pay daily or however you like.

I was similar to you when i got on i was doing a quarter gram to half gram shots twice daily in the morning and before bed, sometimes id split the gram into three shots. You wont be sick on methadone you will actually be surprised how good you feel you may even catch a nod. They start you off at about 30mg which you wont think is enough but it is and they increase you until you are stabilized and comfortable-its all about you and your comfort!

Also, with the new obamacare law as of jan 2014 if you are low income you can apply for cal-med (only in cali obviously) and it pays for all my methadone. I was paying out of pocket last year which sucked but still cheaper than dope. Maybe your state has something similar.

Good luck man, methadone takes the cravings away like not other and really fills that void that suboxone leaves me with. I hope you go through with it.
