I just had to poke myself for a half hour and I couldn't hit for some reason. I changed the needle and I hit on the first try. Do some needles just suck?

Whenever that happens make sure that pin isn't clogged by squirting a little bit out back into the cooker and drawing it back up through the filter. Sometimes something gets in their and clogs the rig so you've gotta get it unclogged.

^^
That's good man, I'm sure they'll consider how far you've come in stabilizing yourself. And you don't necessarily have to serve all 5 years of probation, you can request a reconsideration hearing after a period of time on probation.

YES. Although I've found that tar (and pills) can also ruin needles instantly. But seriously, sometimes it seems like one in the pack is just defective or something. Also some brands are a lot easier to use than others. Easy touch ftw.

And obviously, fresh needles are a lot easier to use.

Had a really rough day today in more ways than one.. I lost someone close to me and I'm having a real tough time with it.

What are some strategies that my fellow BL heads have for saving your last bit of dope for the morning and not dipping into it when it's just calling to you dip into?

Any good ways to win this battle? Might start a thread over in DC.

Condolences. Xanax, or the like, is the only way you can make it until morning...just straight lights out.

Ha. Tough one, man. Most of us have a problem with that... because as dope fiends, self control is obviously something we're lacking..

But, what helps me, is just thinking about how much the morning is going to suck if I don't have anything, even a little bit, saved. I hate, hate hate, waking up sick, not having anything, and knowing I have to go hustle or cop while in withdrawal. So, thinking about that, and just dreading it, helps me have the control to at least save a small wakeup shot, even just some cottons, to get me well, so I can do what I gotta do without being all sick.

Geez E,I am truly sorry for your loss. I lost my little brother/best friend/running buddy myself but time and life will eventually dull the sting.

I left a few bags at work so they were waiting for me the next day and I had no way of accessing them before then.

It's pretty hard so not do bags when I have them on me but if I pinch the corner of each bag that I do so that I have a little left in each one for the following morning it's a little easier to do mentally than if I were to try to save full bags for some reason.

So went to court again today. Pleaded down the 4 felonies to just 1, 6 months in jail and 5 years probation. But, thankfully the judge and the DA agreed to consider straight probation. So sentencing is in 2 months. Within that time, I get interviewed by the probation department, etc, show them the recommendations from the methadone clinic, my outpatient, my job, whatnot, and then hopefully they agree to just probation instead of any jail time at all.

That's crazy, that's pretty much the exact sentence I got for a first time delivery charge years ago, and it's pretty typical of what I've known other people to get...I ended up with 6 years suspended/probation, 6 months to serve, and I had to complete an inpatient rehab upon my release...I flunked out of rehab after two months though, and ended up doing another 90 days...

I would have had to do 2 years to serve to get out of probation, and they insisted on jail time no matter what, because I was on probation...

It's such a waste of time how hard the system milks these petty narcotics charges! You have to keep going back 20 times, dicking around...The drugs haven't gone anywhere! You have all these people with felonies on their record's....Does this really "protect society" in any way? Because, it seems like a big joke to me...It employs police and prison guards, enriches foreign criminal organizations and ruins people's lives, that's about it!

Incarceration and the drug war are big business to the police and prison industrial complex. For this reason they milk the fears of every John, Dick and Mary to continue to justify more punitive measures and increase their revenue. Those caught up in the system are seen as undesirables and therefore any damage done to their lives is seen as a justifiable and a deserved consequence.

I believe that things are slowly starting to change because every John, Dick and Mary now has a close family member that has had their life severely impacted by addiction and the court system. It is my hope that now that the problem is hitting closer to home in middle/suburban America that the flaws in our justice system will slowly be revealed and changes will start to come. Nobody wants their own child or grandchild to be locked up for addiction and suffering that they witnessed first hand. People are starting to realize that addiction is not just an inner city problem reserved for scum. It is now not just a problem that happens to somebody else.

Ye fuck the courts. I learned my lesson the hard way never to accept supervised probation unless youre ready for it. In the long run youll do less time and deal w less bullshit getting it out of the way ahead of time. Im sure you already know this though you are both experienced fellows. The plus is CA is so over crowded most people are only serving about 10-20% max of their sentence. Girls gettin 90 days get out in less than two weeks.

Today i just made the LAST fine payment from a stupid posession charge in 2011. Been arrested for the same charge three times over for warrants for noncompliance, have paid almost $2k in diversion class fees and court fines, and withdrew in jail three seperate times which was punishment enough. Im still on summonary (unsupervised) probation for a few more months which is bs all it means that if i get arrested again before the times up this case may be reopened

You have a good public defender scag? Most of them are dicks but theres a few rare gems that genuinely care.

Yall must not watch the news, Obama is going to give clemency to around 3000 prisoners of the war on drugs. I think he's also trying to get rid of mandatory sentences for drug offenses as well.

I hope you get probation Mr. Scag.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I'm hoping too.

Public defender? With 4 felonies at 9 years a piece max on them? Fuck that. I hired one of the best lawyers I could. Cost me 10 grand but she was cool about letting me pay over time and not all in one sum, thank God, which I obviously couldn't have done. She's all paid off now though. Gave her the last 2 grand last week. So, if anyone is gonna get me a good deal, it's her.

I'll believe it when I see it. Promises, promises.
