Gee's Linctus

pholcodeine works pretty well for cough suppression for me tbh
 
I don't find pholcodeine that bad for coughs. I'd even go so far as to say it works pretty well. But I'd never tell the chemist that. Think I may even be allergic to it. I also never buy Gee's or codeine lincti for myself - only for me auld granny who refuses to try any of the newer stuff.
 
I always buy for myself, well obviously, but as far as the pharmacists are concerned also.

The one time, short of buying from the same place too often, that I have got turned down for a sale, was when I had said I had a cough (and I did), but when asked by the pharmacist why I was walking with a cane, I said because my knee was killing me.

Then the fucker refused to serve me, because its an opiate painkiller, but they can only sell it for treating coughs.

I only ASKED for it, for the cough.

Plenty of other places, the pharmacist has actually told me it will help with the pain, more or less, as a side effect. Seemed pretty stupid to me, refusing to sell something because it might have a beneficial side effect...never been refused because something might have a BAD side effect, but incidentally being helpful, no, sorry, can't have it then.

I don't find they are usually too fussy here as long as you don't constantly go to the same place time after time in a short period, appearance-wise, I'm generally well dressed, but in a leather trench or small, very tight-fitting leather jacket, combat pants and newrock boots, add in the fact I'm 24, with a goatee, walk with a cane, always wear dark wraparound shades/dark aviator type goggles, have my labret pierced with a stepped/tapered metal spike and have two rings on one side of my bottom lip I am actually quite surprised they don't seem to automatically pass judgement based on that.

MDMA is actually a pretty good cure for a cough. True story. Sorted me out anyway. :D
 
Stumbling in blatantly cunted (and usually reeking of brandy by 10AM at the time) and/or wild-eyed, sweating profusely and with a look of pure need in those dilated eyes ain't such a good look either. Amazed how frequently I managed to hit the same few places before they got suss. Thank fuck for British Gas reps :D

Funnily enough, it's done the same for me. With colds and mild flu too.

And yeah, the 10am brandy odour has ruined many a good chance of getting served anything better than Nytol for me too.

I have a tale of smack and Nytol but will spare y'all it as I've mentioned it many times already. Suffice to say I avoid Nytol on principle now.

MDMA does clear the ol' passages and no mistake though. Most stims do I'd say. Ket is less helpful with a cold...
 
Nytol is shite.

Never tried a so-called recreational dosage, never will either.
But at any dose, it makes me completely unable to follow a train of thought or verbally process. I don't usually go nonverbal, very rarely in fact, but DPH has made it happen before. Leaves me feeling like crap, and doesn't make sleep either.

Anyone happen to know what IV/IM suitable antihistamines are available for use in england? I need to get at least one dose that I can keep pre-loaded and ready for quick use, preferably minimal or no antimuscarinic activity.

I need to keep one by the enclosure of a pet I am getting.
 
^ Aniseedy type flavour, but thicker than a standard spirit. Seems to be a divisive issue amongst my mates. Marmite style love it or hate it.

What would a bottle of Gee's equate to in terms of cocodamol or dhc?
 
Hard to equate cos it feels not a bit like codeine or DHC (or indeed morphine). It feels like opium. Cos it is opium. Maybe it's the added ethanol (surprisingly large amount per bottle) but it feels pretty damn strong with little/no tolerance. For those in that fortuitous position re tolerance Gee's is as good as it gets bar laudanum, I'd say. Unbelievably euphoric, so dreamy it borders on tripping sometimes (especially with the addition of good weed and a hammock - my favoured MOA). Other than heroin, it's probably my fave opi of all I've sampled. Tolerance allowing. I am a massive Gee's fanboy though. Some don't get much or anything from it sadly. Well worth 1.30 or so of anyone's money to find out though :)

Jagermeister = ansinthe lite? Or more like - god help us - pernod? Sambuca stylee I'm guessing from the description. Ick.

Jagermeister's not got the ethanol-y kick in the back of your throat that sambuca has, alledgedly a huge number of different ingredients in it but the only one i seem to be able to pick out is liquorice/aniseed. I've never induldged in pernod or absinth so i couldn't comment.
 
Will have to bite the bullet and sup the Jag for meself sometime then, I suppose. Have very mixed feelings on aniseedy drinks. Can be superb (absinthe) can be vile (pernod, sambuca).

With no little or no tolerance a bottle is a decent dose - certainly no chance of OD. Bit of a chance of puking - as you may have noticed some folks really can't abide the taste. They are wrong though :D

When I very first tried Gee's my only prior opiate experience was with a few chased lines of heroin here and there (but rarely) and codeine phosphate pills. Probably not too high a dose of them even - I used to snort two 30mg pills every coupla hours at work to keep me floaty was all. Whatever folk may say about snorting codeine pills they are also wrong - it does work. Probably not as well as oral but it works and was how I was introduced to them. Half a bottle of Gee's used to get me cosy around that time. A bottle got me happy. I had essentially no real tolerance at the time though, as mentioned. And YMMV as ever :)
 
Jagermeister isn't too bad, I agree on the two general sides to aniseed-ish drinks, either great stuff, such as absinthe, or raki, or like green aftershock...I reckon I feel a bit nauseous just thinking about that stuff.
