$800,000 boost for drug treatment
The ACT government will spend an extra $800,000 on drug treatment and support services in a bid to battle the growing epidemic.
Health Minister Simon Corbell announced the funding boost which will see funding reach record levels.
'We know that we are facing unprecedented challenges when it comes to ice use in the ACT and more people than ever before are seeking treatment,' Mr Corbell said.
The Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy will get $115,000 to roll out the naloxone overdose management pilot program.
The Alcohol, Tobacco Other Drug Association ACT will also receive a $115,000 boost to increase the accessibility for interventions for with crystal methamphetamine users.
