^^^LOL!!! Goddamn man, that is some shit! Luckily, I have managed to avoid the law...

But tell me, you said you "didn't have a card"??? Is it actually legal to carry them in areas with an exchange, with this "card"?

And sorry about you getting poked, I have had to dispose of them in MY TRASHCAN before the night they pick up, but when I did, I broke the needles off and placed them inside the syringes.

Most places with exchanges give amnesty to needle possession so you don't just dump them and so you won't be afraid to take them to be disposed of properly. When I was in NM, an exchange card is only valid for needle possession in town it was issued and didnt have one for that town. Where I'm now a card is valid for the whole state. Sometimes cops give you a hard time if it looks like there's residue in the syringe, sometimes they don't Every state and municipality is different. They will get you on cookers and cottons tho.

However, I have been extremely lucky as far as law is concerned. Been using for 5 years and was slinging for almost 2. Only time I spent was 3 weeks in county. Fortunately the evidence got "misplaced" so I had all 6 of my felony charges dropped!! I even had the lieutenant tell me they had been trying to build a case and that I sold to an undercover. They were not pleased. LOL

I was only poked once as a trashman, and my driver even warned me. He said, "Be careful, there's a lot of diabetics in this town"... Don't know if he was naive or just trying not to mention how many needle users were in the area. Good to hear you don't just toss your needles.

^^^Yeah, just throwing needles out is the most careless thing a person can do. I mean it's a reall asshole move, if you can help it AT ALL. I walk around town a lot, I in the areas with "lots of diabetics" they're are needles everywhere. Of course, where I live, there is no amnesty of any kind for us "diabetics", so I could see having to ditch them on the street, but still man...

God. That's one thing I can't stand. Walking down the street and finding used sharps. Once I was even in a storm shelter with families with their children and there were used points on the ground in there.

Hey peepol! I think it's great with all the advice about disposal of used gear, and something that people should keep in mind when using dope on the go. But I think it would be great to twist this thread a little bit, and talk about how people have their non-used gear with them on-the-go. Like home-made carrying kits, that are essentially a shrine to the user when unfolded... Things of the likes...

E.g. when I used to snort my heroin, I had stitched a small leather pouch that was about 5 x 5 cm. It had a flap for sealing, and a neat closing mechanism made with a leather string loop attached to the pouch, which I would pass through a small hole in the flap, and then wrapped around the pouch to secure it shit (EDIT: shut). On the inside of the flap, I had a tiny pocket that could hold a small packet of dope, but otherwise, the pouch was perfect to hold an Eppendorf vile for the smack (which could hold about 1.5 g or so of crushed powder), a wooden pipe for snorting (actually a 4.5 cm long joint mouthpiece, nicely carved and a perfect fit in my nostril), and a razor blade for chopping (one of those single sided trapezoid shaped ones, used for craft knifes). This kit was really convenient to carry around; the leather prevented me from accidently cutting myself on the razor, the razor spared my credit cards from chopping too much rock, and the pipe let me avoid stuffing too many dirty money bills up my nose... It felt like a blessing every time I would pull out the kit - which could fit in any pocket, sock, bag, etc. - unfold it and break out a line...

For shooting dope, I haven't gone as far as to make a carrying kit, as the prospects of me shooting dope on a regular basis have been dim, as I can't afford to do so with my lifestyle (health, work, money, etc.). But anyways, when on the go, I have a couple of sealed 2 ml syringes, a similar amount of 27G needles and SteriCup/Filt kits, as well as some 1.5 ml disposable vials of sterile saline solution. To dissolve the dope, which too often is no. 3, I carry a packet of crystalline citric acid. Of course I also take with me alcohol pads for sterilizing the shot site before and after mainlining. I then wrap my used gear tightly in tissue/toilet paper, and carry it with me until I can dispose of it responsibly.

used to have a sunglasses case with my rig, spoon, tourniquet (made from electric tape), and dope. when in a car, I'd bring a long a bottle with tap water in it.

The UK has done a lot in terms of improving harm reduction and drug treatment services, the last government (Labour) put a lot of money into it.

The new Conservative led government says that is committed, but is placing undue emphasis on recovery/ abstinence and is gradually and subtley reducing investment, part of thier obsession to cut the government spending deficit along with its more socially conservative approach and neo-liberal rightwing zeal. Some treatment services have already folded, particularly for young people.

I use a makeup bag and I have a pop can bottom, cotton, needles (if i can get them), a straw, a long shoe tie and tourniquet, a wash cloth ( because I bleed like crazy) and a water bottle. Oh and a lighter.
