FWIW I had a 45 minute wait in Halfords and spent the time reading the back of all their alloy wheel cleaners. I didn't find any GBL.

Getting it shipped over doesn't seem to be a problem though.
 
Have always been quite surprised at how easy it is to get shipped over given the fact that it's a heavy bottle of liquid. Have never once had a problem though. Most places have tracking so you can follow it's progress too. Mine usually has to clear customs in three countries before getting to my door. Is always a bit nervy when you see it's at customs but has always gotten through without a problem. I think most places now get you to sign their T&Cs and email them a copy basically saying that you want it for legit purposes and definitely do not intend to drink it. At worst you'll get a love letter and lose your money if it gets stopped. Prosecution seems a bit of a longshot but is possible, I suppose.

Am quite hankering after some at the moment. Is a bit of an investment but you certainly get your money's worth. Have been off the booze this last week and feel much better for it. Bit o' guice would go down nice as a stand-in of sorts. Booze is just horrid but is nice to have a lil snifter of summat of an eve.

The very first 'legal high' I ordered online was a tub of GHB around 1999, having read loads about it on the alt.drugs newsgroup (anyone remember that?). I honestly thought it was shite as it made me feel sort of half pissed and a bit wobbly, but no euphoria or anything really pleasant at all. Also, I was quite concerned about having to ingest all those grams of salt - not good for yer kidneys! This put a 'bad taste in my mouth' regarding on-line legal highs so I missed out on the mephedrone & spice era. However, at the time I was one of those weird people who hated alcohol. Now, having a new found love of booze, I feel I might actually appreciate GHB/GBL as it does seem to be regarded as a substitute. Is this correct? Is GHB/GBL a poor replacement for booze, or a far superior product that you're only likely to appreciate if you like booze in the first place? From my one experience (well, 7 consecutive nights building up the dose to try and 'get' it) I can't see what all the fuss is about, but I'm willing to be converted ;)
 
There are some similarities to booze but it's not really a replacement as such. I'd liken it more to the feeling you get when you've had a few drinks but not at the pissed stage - inhibitions way down, any anxiety vanished and gone, feeling gooooood, very euphoric, full of confidence bit wobbly but not falling about the place. I much prefer it to booze really as that's the only stage of alcohol that's any good.

I do tend to find I often want a drink alongside the geeb though as it's very much on a level on it's own. You start at that level and either stay at that level by judicious redosing or rapidly sober up if you don't (or KO yourself and flop about like a mongolated fish if yer eyes get bigger than yer belly). You can't escalate, as it were.

I much prefer the effects to those of alcohol in general but can feel slightly lacking if you're looking for a straight-up booze replacement. If you're trying to avoid booze for whatever reason it's a pretty damn good "replacement" in terms of getting a vaguely similar (but greatly superior) effect but with none of the same problems. Although it has a few problems all of its own, of course...
 
I don't really like alcohol as a drug and find G to be a superb replacement in social situations. Physically better, no erectile dysfunction, clearer headed, less amnesia, no nausea and you can sober up faster when you decide you've had enough.

I can't imagine use G in company. Not polite company anyway :D Is there a sociable sweetspot below the manic touchy-feely-squirmy sweetspot that I've not found yet?
 
I know people who've done it many times in many different quantities and settings, and never enjoyed it. Think it just doesn't tick the boxes for some. I loved it from the first dose. Which was also the first time I saw 2 girls 1 cup, courtesy of the BLer I was chatting to on MSN at the time :)

It took me two or three attempts to work out the dosing technique. Now I have it's pretty fucking great. What were you expecting that you didn't get? A reach around and a box of chocolates? :)
 
damn i wish i had the balls to do this and order from overseas, i miss guicceeee ! has anyone tried converting there gbl to ghb? how does it differ in effects?

Haven't done a lot of it, but I found GHB gentler and generally more a calm experience. Relaxing. Whereas GBL can make me pretty manic.

At the time (this was a few years ago) I was like "WHAT?? My GBL has been turned into this wussy thing??", but these days the idea of a wussier GBL is quite appealing.
