GBL Megathread: 3ml and Wobbling

Not wishing to stray into the realms of dicksizing, but you say you use GBL 4-5 days a week and maybe up to 10ml in conjunction with stims. I really don't see how you can have developed much of a tolerance that way. I use GBL 24/7 (usually 20-30ml a day but up to 50ml with stims/psyches) and have done for months without a break and haven't noticed any kind of real tolerance to GBL itself.
We're all completely different.

2.5ml doesn't give me that great a buzz anymore. Originally, 1.5ml would make me feel amazing.

^this is the guy that took 10 grams of meph in a day, seems he likes to push things to the limit more than me or anyone else around bl, he will probably be dead before he loses his greenlighter status :\

Then stop abusing the shit out of yourself BrokenBrain. Taper off all the substances and then just walk away.

I'm off it now.
No way am I ever going to be off everything for ever.
I hate living sober.Alcohol is all I had for years,If I'd had access to a decent amount of different things I would have been a once a week drinking person at most rather than 4 or more times wrecked weekly
Anyway fuck it I can't be arse dwith this. I hate enough about this awful world anyway.
Walk away...to what?A Budhist commune?

I agree with this one. Come on mate, surely you can imagine a better life for yourself? I know all about alcohol and what it does to people/familys/pretty much everything connected to it. Being sober is fucking shit I agree, but there are other ways to get out of your head. No one's saying become a born again christian, but you sound like your stuck in one fuck of a rut man.

Sorry if this sounds like I'm preaching or anything, I'm really not, in the end I'm just as clueless and fucked up as anyone else and have plenty of problems, but I'm also pretty happy with what I have. I know for a fact that acid helped me straighten myself out a lot, even if that sounds daft (or you know me in person and know what a space case I can be sometimes ;))

I hope you can find a way to get off the Guice and the drink for good, cos at 21 years old I was told my liver was almost completely fucked from drinking so much, which made me look/feel like the biggest fucking loser ever. 3 years on I still have trouble keeping off it for good, but I made a few big changes in my life and I'm better, healthier and happier than I've ever been, despite all the fucked up horrible things I did/saw/experienced as total alcoholic.

I also use G quite a bit, but I've never had a problem controlling it, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Anyway, this is one long random post. Please take care of yourself man!

Getting out of this mentality is a good start on the way to soberity/normality... It's not fucking shit it's fucking life

Exactly, and life is fucking shit sometimes, but pissing it away is no life at all, I was trying to point out that life is hard as fuck sometimes for some people, but it's worth it. Being sober for a while after years was such a mad eye opening experience for me. You miss so much when your pissed and out of it.

Anyway - sorry to derail this thread!

I didn't take any GBL for 8 weeks or drink for most of that time.
I used to think GBL was great because it got me out of the total suicidal, useless state of non-life I had been in for years.
The last 2 weeks I've had nothing much to do and one of those weeks was made better with GBL and the other was coming off it in a far better manner than I have done for 18 months.Previously I'd spend 7 days drunk and 7 days on GBL apart from when I was on benzos.
In the 8 weeks I didn't take it I didn't become a better or worse person, but I knew that being truly sober eg 24/7 for ever is an impossible painful task.
I don't want to aim for that. I would like to have access to sobriety for at least 2 days of every week.I would like to get stoned no more than once a week. I would like to drink no more than every Friday or better still every other Friday...or less.
I don't fuck up on GBL in public. Being on it has been useful recently, only one day did I fuck it up and it was behind closed doors.
The nose bleeds etc are very rare, but I've never had them before 2005 and only got them when on 24/7 GBL for longer than a week. I have got many aches and pains whilst on it that don't remotely feel natural.
Basically what I'm thinking is that I don't want GBL. I want a month or more away from G and when I get some again GHB needs to be tested properly.
If it is like GBL,without the negative physical symptoms then I wouldn't have a problem doing 7 days on, 3 weeks off or maybe 1 week on 7 weeks off.

I've had the aches and pains - knees locking up, etc. They are certainly from GBL. GHB is much nicer physically, but still a twat to come off. Also, taking 50 grammes of sodium or more a day is not good for the old kidneys, although I didn't notice any issues.

I believe it's the withdrawals that cause the aches and pains, and not vitamin deficiency, otherwise GABA-B agonists like baclofen and phenibut wouldn't stop them.

I only got the aches when actually on GBL, Treac. Used to find it very uncomfortable in fact and was probably the main reason I used to take relatively decent breaks now and again. Not really noticed any aches (certainly not like I used to get) since I started taking the multivitamin. Still don't seem to get withdrawals so can't comment on that ;)

I personally believe that at least some of the negative effects whilst you're using are because of acidosis, now it might be only slightly altering someones blood ph, but an acidic ph in the long term can cause problems.
People on BL have tested positive for overly acidic blood before, and others haven't.
Anway I am just about to hit the codiene for todays fix as Guice is off the menu for at least a month!
If it makes it back onto the menu I will be doing the real stuff instead of the prodrug, and maybe I won't be having pains and stuff.
I have to say that this withdrawals has been WAY easier than previous ones in the last 12 months, which suggests that :
A. 2 months off did some good to me.
B. I have hit upon a far better withdrawal regime.

GHB still gives some mild aches, but nothing like GBL. I'm still sure it's because GBL is more potent, and coming off GABA-B agonists does that. Baclofen and phenibut are similar when it comes to stopping.

Poured the remainder of my GBL today. I believe my use was beginning to become problematic and my lack of self-control skills are definitely more problematic than the addictive nature of the drug but the combined nature of them I can see resulting in more problems. I've already started it having a negative effect on my productivity and my relationship.

I'm going to try and stay sober during the weekdays. I spend too much time on one chemical or another.

What makes people think GBL is 'one of the safest substances'? Are there are articles or studies out there that support this?

There have been a few studies on toxicity, Gezgin. It appears to be negligible.

In addition to its extensive use in industry, food grade and pharmaceutical grade GBL is also widely used in a number of products ultimately intended for human ingestion or infusion. Two of these are as a blood plasma extender and as a clarifying agent in beer and wine. Thus, despite the unappetizing thought of consuming "the active ingredient in engine degreaser," GBL is an extremely safe and potentially highly beneficial substance with industrial, dietary and pharmaceutical uses.

In a long-term dosing experiment in rodents, very high doses of butyrolactone showed a surprising lack of toxicity [NTIS, 1992]... At the end of 2 years (old age, for rats), the survival of male rats was 48% for the control group, 54% for the intermediate-dose group and 64% for the high-dose group. That’s right, the GBL-treated male rats lived longer!

Canadian SBD report on Xyrem (GHB) - which also mentions GBL.

Nothing is completely safe but GBL appears to be pretty benign used alone and not to ridiculous excess :)
