Word. Happens all the time. I think its mostly a mob-organized system in NY Tax evasion is a pretty big industry here/
. Out-of-State, bootlegged or downright stolen/hijacked cigarettes are sold on the low. I had a real ill out-of-state hookup in my old neighborhood but i havent been up there in so long i bet its gone now. Most out-of-states ive seen came from VA or MD. I've had some bootlegged ones that just tasted horrible. Rumors in the hood is that they're literally bootlegged from china

I could imagine those tasting pretty bad once they actually got to the U.S. haha, But , I couldn't imagine someone going that far out of the way for ciggerretes, but, hell, if your make 2-3$ profit per pack per carton, Im sure it'd add up...

Anywho, We've also had our share of high gas prices Phat_bass, I remember when it hit 6.57-7.00$ in Cali, Kinda curious, why is the UK charging so much for gas, ? has it always been that way or is something happening in the UK thats causing high prices?
 
Its always been expensive, its going to get a whole lot more expensive soon, as we are going to have a raise on VAT (value added tax) in January. Today the price of petrol was £1.24 / litre when i filled the car up. Total cost for 1 tank was £72 or something, thats like $110. Its getting rediculous!
 
Holy shit I forget how cheap cigs are in the rest of the country. Here they're up to 12 in most places in NYC, though as was mentioned the chain pharmacies tend to be cheaper at around 10 a pack. Not sure about gas prices because I don't drive. But even roll your owns are getting up there the brand I smoke drum is 10 dollars a packet now. I need to quit really.
 
thats an interesting thread looking back at the prices in 2005 we see that fuel price is way more steady than goddarn cigs!!...anyways...

Cigs ; 8.25 a pack ( Red Marlboro )
 
and also the most expensive gas in the world is sold in Turkey, which is where i was born. Before i left like a year and a half ago i was paying $8 for a gallon!!

$5-7.00 for pack of Newports!! Damn 7-11 is killling me on smokes, but hey I used to live in Brooklyn NY! so i really cant complain
 
GTA ontario. gas is 1.06/L and smokes run about 8-10 for 20 pack and as high as $15 for 25 pack depends on the brand. Belmont is the standard. the native reserves have the cheapest smokes around 200 of em for 10-20 dollars/

From what the federal government just passed a tax on all cigarettes on reservations. Apparently there's a hold on when it starts, but its definitely happening. It was in the news about a week back. I'll try to dig up an article.

Gas - 3.14$
Ciggeretes - 2.79-4.00$ Depends on the pack.(Camels, Turkish Gold usually.)

Holy Crap, Ciggs are really that expensive in OC? wow. Thats not that far away, and yet prices differ 3-5$, wow.
I really don't understand why its so expensive for that crap.
Im surpised there aren't more blackmarket sellers of Ciggs transfering Cartons from west coast to east coast,
Anyone know how much a whole carton goes for on the east coast? I can get them for 30-40$ here.



Don't know if reservations effect anything when it comes to these prices, but , We've got 2 reservation Casinos within 30-45minutes.
One to the North, One to the South.

And yeah, we had high prices on gasoline as well, I remember when shit was 6.00$ a gallon, ugh, so glad thats done with for now, even though I still miss the days where it was just 1.60/gal.

nyc (manhattan, over 45 days ago before i went to rehab)
gas - 3.00+
cigs - 10 - 12 bucks
