Ganesha

I know ;) these Ganeshas have been tested at 210 (half = 105) but I'll stop cluttering this thread with offtopic stuff now, sry!

Some dude on a forum says:
A chemist friend who is also an artist took some Ganesha (for chemistry junkies -> 2,5-DIMETHOXY-3,4-DIMETHYLAMPHETAMINE), that he stole the materials for. After the effects ended his only words were - "NEVER AGAIN".

Hm, still sounds interesting, especially that its one of the fewer amphetamine derivates that is not stimulating but rather relaxing.
There is so little info to be found on the G-series, and there isnt much hope since the synthesis seems to be so troublesome.

link me to that report! i havnt read any reports on the stuff other than pihkal.

verrrryyyy interested. this is probably the most intreguing expereince to me.

Sorry to disappoint! Twas a sentence, not a report :)
Apart from that, info is uber scarce.
So we don't even know why the guy didn't like it. Besides we don't even
know what he ingested!
Hopefully someone can honor us with anecdotes or stories, otherwise
we may not see this thread developing...

ok to clear up some earlier confusion, this is the shulgin nomenclature for these 3,4-dimethylene compounds.

i'd be very interested in reading more about this, but alas, information seems sparse

that whole series looks so much sexier with the 3,4 on the "left" rather than twisted the other way. mmmm. never took the time to think of them that way before. my curiosity is piqued.

i especially like the napthyl ones. four new spots for substitutions! i now understand even better why shulgin said in the commentary for G-N, "There can be no more exciting area of research than this, anywhere in the sentient world." at least i assume thats what he was thinking.

someone clone shulgin ASAP. =D

---edit---

from the commentary for 2C-G-N:

"There is always a wish in the design of new compounds to find something that is of interesting activity, with an aromatic ring at some location pretty much away from the site of activity. This would then allow some subtle fine-tuning of the nature of the action by putting any of a wide range of electron pushing or electron pulling groups on that ring. But here, with 2C-G-N, by the time the ring got put into place, the activity was already on the wane, and the action was too long, and there are indicators of some not completely friendly effects. Ah well, some other molecule, some other time. "

hm.

even if 2C-G-N is a dud, the whole G series has tons of completely unexplored possibilities.

what about 3,4 di (trifluoromethyl) ? hexafluoro-2C-G maybe.
what about a fluoro on any of the three carbons in G-3?
and i'm really curious from an academic standpoint about the stereoisomeric activity of the G-5 pairs.

i'm not too knowledgeable on what is happening right now (what RCs are being sold), but have you or anyone else ever seen CF3 substituents on ANYTHING at all?! i've never come across any of these substances in real life. i know nichols does it of course, (but he has a lab, a bag of money, etc.), they sound very interesting.

maybe the trifluoromethane synthon is too expensive?

edit: imagine wrapping that ethylamine chain up into a cyclobutane, as with 2C-BCB (all hail the shulgin nomenclature!), that would give you 4 isomers to play around with! plus, a hell of a duration, if those Ki values are anything to go by.

i've been intrigued by the 2c-g series, and amphetamine counterparts as well, for some time. never heard or seen anyone with access to them though. I suppose one could get a custom synth, but that would be extremely expensive i imagine. I'd also like to see some 2c-tfm available that's of acceptable purity and sans unreacted 2c-i...
