Just wondering if there's a better chemical shorthand for this drug?

3C-G ?

Huh? I was asking if 3C-G was correct? As I've only ever heard it called Ganesha.

why not just call it ganesha? easier to write and pronounce than 3C-G…

"Ganesha" has way too many religious associations to be a decent name that doesn't create expectations beyond the drug... I dunno, if I didn't know better, I'd think that this new drug whose actual name was "Ganesha" would be the drug of drugs. There are far too many intensely spiritual connotations in that word to give a drug that name. I'm a bit put off/offended that Shulgin would name a drug after a Hindu deity, even though I am not a Hindu... it just seems disrespectful.

^ Dunno, he's quite the multiculturalist - instead of using alpha, beta he decided on aleph, bet etc (being Jewish in origin might have a little influence). Either that or he just likes elephants =D

If someone wanted to call a drug,'Jesus, Joseph & Mary', I'd have no problem (unless it weas a highly potent psychedelic - could do without reminders of rabid catholicism when tripping. Got enough catholic guilt as a kid to last me a lifetime).

I quite like the name 'Shiva'', esp for a psychedelic. To paraphraseRobert Oppenhimer (reading from Hindu sacred text)

"Now I have become ego death, destroyer of petty worlds" =D (my additions in purple italics)
