On the subject of using psychoactives to enhance gaming;
I don't find it very odd to be honest, gaming isn't like it was 10-15 years ago where you had to go off to an arcade, deal with dial-up, or choose from a world of mostly single player games. These days everything is focused on multiplayer, and most of those games are pretty addictive.
I wouldn't waste an LSD trip on leveling up in a single player RPG. But on a first person shooter game with about 5 of my local friends all playing with me? That's pretty fun, I don't have to leave the safety of my house and if I ever want to quit the game and wander out in nature I can just step out the back door (I live on a farm, perfect for mushroom/LSD trips

).
My point is it can be a lot of fun on the come-up, and after the peak (or at the peak on a light dose). Other drugs are fun too...even just having a few beers is nice sometimes. I personally like to be in chill mode when I play online so I don't take things too serious, so I'm usually toking on a bowl throughout a match and drinking a few beers.
Gaming is more of a social thing these days...it's something you do when you don't have anything better to do. With the economy in the toilet a lot of us can't afford to go out and do things as a group. So instead we pony up the $20 to Microsoft every 3 months (damn friends won't convert to PC, I use steam as well as Xbox Live) which is very cheap when you consider what you're getting in the return.
Anyway I guess my point is don't knock it til you've tried it. Just make sure you're playing a multiplayer game with some close friends and try it sometime. Mario Kart is a lot of fun and anyone can play it...perhaps y'all should give it a go.
But hey, if it ain't for you more power to ya. Everyone has their own idea of what is fun!
