Game: Spot the Movie From the Still V 3.0

If you are talking about The Thing with Kurt Russell, that movie rocked. It built suspense and had great special FX. One of the best horror movies in my opinion.

sorry... I disagree with you about the Thing with Kurt Russell. It sucked compared to the original.

ok... next....

HAH! The Thing From Another World starring TV cowboy James Arness as The Thing.

I love those old horror films! They scare the daylights out of you by building suspense instead of trying yo bedazzle you with dumb special effects. The remake of The Thing was horrible!

Are you seriously saying the original is better than John Carpenter's The Thing? The special effects were very good for its time and it wasn't an effects-driven movie. It was the ultimate paranoia film.

It was just plain stupid. The idea that the "thing" would "duplicate" itself to look like another living being just failed altogether for me. It was all about the gore, which wasn't that convincing. I'm not knocking John Carpenter. The Fog was an excellent suspenseful thriller/horror! But the original Thing was more scary even though you hardly even saw it. It was the anticipation and suspense that was so scary, not the special effects. The remake of the Andromeda Strain also failed. The acting sucked. The original Andromeda Strain had a feel to it like it was a docudrama of a real event that would really happen that way. I like my science fiction to be imaginative but it cant be full of holes and dumb stuff. It has to hold together in a coherent and believable way.

I knew that one too! I've seen it many times. And Henry Fonda never would have convinced me that the Spanish kid didn't do it. :p
