keeping this thread alive with pictures of GOT women

Saw an interview with Lena Headey where she mentions she loved playing Cersei because the character was complicated.

I have to agree. Cersei is probably one of the better females in fantasy. There's too much of a tendency for fantasy to swing between two extremes - the meek traditional female (bleh) or a modern woman in a fantasy setting who is exceptional.

Cersei isn't either. Sure, she understands the unfairness of her sex, and she rallies against it, but while her gender held her back, so does her ability - once in power, Cersei screws everything up. It's kind of refreshing. She's a woman who gets to be a real character. And as a character, she's deeply flawed. Her gender restricts what roles she can take in society, but it doesn't restrict her as a character.

End of March, bitches! HELL YEAH

I am actually going to tell the dude I'm seeing that I have to now go home on Sundays, because he doesn't have HBO. Bets on if he gets HBO for me? LOL He says "You can just DVR it and watch it on Monday." I'm like "FUCK NO!"

Can't wait.

I'm glad Storm of Swords will be split between two seasons, some of Season 2 (Clash of Kings) felt rushed, like Arya'a time on the run from King's Landing/time at Harrenhal, or was skipped over entirely, like Theon and Reek, while other shit was done horribly wrong, like the "Where are my Dragons?!?!?!?!" plotline and their atrocious version of the House of the Undying.

While the third may simply be an unforgivable matter of poor script writing (possibly due the the fact that the House of the Undying in the books would literally spoil the series if we were able to visually determine who was who, and they therefore had to rework the entire sequence), the first two were a simple matter of time constraints. Clash of Kings really should have been two seasons as well, it would have given Martin more time to finish the series before the show catches up to him as well.

As I understand it, he is about 400 (manuscript) pages into The Winds of Winter, so, assuming this is true and the publishers decide this time to not give him shit for coming out with a 1500 page behemoth, we might be seeing Winds of Winter and Dream of Spring a lot sooner than we saw Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons.

:(

I feel your pain. It could be worse, though; some guy at a bus stop ruined the entire eight-novel Dark Tower series for me by telling me how it ended.

also who i think will bite the dust: [spoil]Barristan Selmy, Both Reed siblings, Brienne of Tarth, Gendry Waters, Sansa Stark, etc.[/spoil]

not really sure about those (well i believe sansa will make it, actually) but lately i'm getting a feeling arya is gonna get it ;/ i mean, the revenge thing obviously ain't happening; she might end up warging one of the dragons, but dunno, i just don't see things ending well for her. and she would be a perfect candidate for a tragic ned-like death.

very late endgame, but i think she's gonna die.

no way man! i think Sansa and Bran have less chances of making it than Arya does. Arya the Lone Wolf, Queen in the North is total Endgame.

I can't wait for the new season to start! I think it's March 31st, but may be incorrect.

My fave character is the dwarf.

I am reading the books too. On book 4 currently.

Season 2 did feel rushed though. I can't wait to see what happens in book 5 and with the dragons.
