My boss was at the Kentucky Derby and I gave her $50 to bet for me. I emailed her last night my bet. I chose the 'exacta' deal with my #1 horse being Super Saver, who ended up winning. However I didn't guess the correct #2. Does that mean I get nothing at all? Or still a little chunk??

Nothing at all, almost a 100% sure.

I used to play trifectas alot.

$50 is a somewhat hefty bet on an exacta.

I was set on Super Saver and I shouldn't have gotten fuckin greedy and done the exacta. Yah and I now realize 50 was too much for that bet.

<<gambling rookie. Teach me the way Rat

Lol I dunno the exacta payouts but when I'd play trifectas with just a $2 bet if you hit it you'd get a few hundred at least. If you would've hit you'd have got paid real decent.

The question has been answered already.

No, you lose. Learn how to bet before you do next time

It's called "exacta" bet for a reason.

Don't beat yourself up Kstoner, you live and learn. I have a friend who is a deposed Nigerian prince and if you send me $50 and... well, you know the rest. ;)

The payouts are fully dependent on the direct odds which change. The more people bet on the same horse/dog/whatever the less the payout. I've hit 1500 on a 4 dollar trifecta and 135 on a 4 dollar trifecta. For my money a quinella box is the safest bet because the places are interchangeable, greatly increasing your odds.

My advice is go to your local track and find the old guys smoking cigars. Get talking at the machine or wherever you bet. Buying em a round or two will go a long way too. Even still to really get good you have to know the history of the dog/horse where it was bred, by who, what class its been in, and age. This is why I usually just ask those guys.

Horse racing is one of the most corrupt sports there is

I would suggest finding something else to gamble on, if you want to gamble.

Over my many years of sports betting, I have found NBA games to be the most consistent. Followed by MLB, then NFL.
