Outspoken Oasis star Noel Gallagher knew it was time to give up drugs when his teeth started falling out in the late 1990s.

The Wonderwall hitmaker has no regrets about his years taking every kind of drug he was offered, but quickly realised he was surrounded by unsavoury people when he got sober.

He says: "My teeth were falling out… We were at a party one night and then I got up and thought, 'I can't be bothered (to take drugs) today.'


"Then one day turned into a week and that turned into a month, then that into a year.

"As that state of mind took hold I would go out with the people I was surrounded with at the time, I'd be sitting there thinking: 'I don't even like you, your bird's an idiot! What you doing in my front room? Get out of here!'"

Gallagher hasn't touched drugs for eight-and-a-half years.

Is he the fruit-smashing guy? If I was him, I would have to drug myself every single day in order to not have to cope with the fact that I smash fruit for a living.

I saw on a national geographic special about meth abuse that chronic meth use gives users dry mouth so their teeth aren't being washed with saliva all day like your mouth is meant to work and that over time leads to tooth loss.
 
Yeah, that isn't the fruit smashing geezers, that is one of the main blokes out of the british band Oasis. Just to clear up any disambiguity.
 
You have to consider that the serious kind of drug abuse that someone as rich as him can indulge in often leads to malnutrition. No drugs can make your teeth fall out, but constantly getting fucked up on coke, booze, e, heroin, etc. while playing in a band as a career, getting laid... doesn't leave much time for proper nutrition, exercise, or hygiene. That's what leads to losing teeth, not the drugs themselves.
 
^uk coke is offten cut with sugar, drips can rott the fuck out of your teeth not to mention corrotion from the hcl or crack smoking weakening the enamel, combined with bad druggie hygine and there ya go.
 
i generally couldn't give a shit about oasis (one and a half great albums and nothing else) or noel gallagher (middle-league guitarist, greatest asset = not being liam).

I agree. They have to be one of the most boring bands ever and I can't believe i used to be into them.
