How do you gague how much
It is possible for you
To love another person?
I've said it before,
That love is not something
That can simply be erased,
And that there is no one single
True love.
But at the same time,
How far can someone push you,
How taut can the strings be pulled
On one's emotions before
You stand up and say something.
I've gone a week without
Seeing that familiar name
Pop up on my screen, and
That familar smile light up
My otherwise dreary exsistence.
My e-mails go unanswered,
And day by day this frustration
That has been building inside of me
Increases substantial amounts.
I find myself going through
Short stages of worry and concern,
Due to the situations you are facing
In your life right now,
And I cannot understand why
You have seemingly turned your back
On me, when I have been there
For you when noone else has.
I'm not asking for that much.
As your friend, as someone that
Cares about you and your well being,
A simple phone call or returned e-mail,
Is all I need right now to set my mind at ease.
I can't imagine you,
Ducking out the way you seemingly have,
Simply vanishing without a trace,
As you know all I've been through
And I would hope you have it in you,
To not push play on the song,
I've already listened to too many times.
