I came off of gaba a month ago. I have been on it 2 years. It had alot of side affacts. Now all my systoms came back. Burning all over and tight head and chest. Very uncomfortable and it wiill not go away. Can any one help me.

Did you taper off of it? Or stop cold turkey?
Maybe a benzo or phenibut could help?
Not too sure to be honest. I was only on gabapentin for a month before it lost effectiveness for me so i stopped it.
I do have a benzo addiction and the gabapentin helped me skip doses of them so with that in mind.. maybe benzos could help with gabapentin wds?
Definitely help with anxiety and could comfort you to a degree.

I agree maybe a low dose benzo will help, since i find gabapentin helps benzo w/d so the reverse should be true

I am now tapering off of gabapentin very slowly. Using a magnesium supplement is the single best thing for the withdrawal syndrome. Find one that is highly absorbable and does not cause a laxative effect. I am using a liquid magnesium. A chelated magnesium in tablet form also works well. Research it and carefully select one, as many of them are virtually worthless, i.e. magnesium oxide.

Gotu Kola is an inexpensive herb that has also helped me. I would not recommend phenibut because you would have to use it so sparingly so as to not develop an addiction (tolerance/withdrawal), and such use wouldn't provide a therapy consistent enough to be worthwhile.

A good kava root drink or extract may also help.

I was on 30mg/day diazepam and 3.4 grams (yes, grams) per day of gabapentin. Went to jail and cold turkey'd all of it. I went mentally insane. Diazepam combined with gabapentin w/d caused full-blown delerium, hallucinations from dreams I would act out. I thought my family was dead. I thought the Outlaws biker club was after me. People thought I was nuts. I would recommend a relatively short taper on the gabapentin and it should be okay. I went back on the gabapentin at 1.2g/day and after 4 months quit and I had no w/d symptoms. I think a lot of them are mental. Everybody's different, but it sure wasn't bad for me (by itself.) Couple it with a GABA-a drug like Valium though, and whoo, you're in for a ride. Just take it easy. Mind over matter.
