Hello, so I am going to run out of my gabapentin script early (800mg X 4times daily). I was wondering if anyone knows what would help with the withdrawal? Like would tramadol help? is there anything I could buy at GNC that might help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey BGWisco, do you even get gabapentin withdrawal? You may not feel too bad. I only say that in recently a relative stopped gabapentin at 1800 mgs a day. They do not take drugs or read BL or reddit. But I had to ask if any discomfort happened and all they said was an hour or two less sleep a night, but ok during the day. They thought I was strange for thinking this was one of those bad drugs that caused withdrawal. Eh, what can I say. Then again I have seen people here gobble grams and grams of gabapentin daily and have bad withdrawals. Most also had some benzo dependency, at least more than not.

Last person that asked was directed towards black see oil and magnesium. But yeah, I am the PITA that askes people to update us to add to the knowledge.

What is your daily dose of gabapentin?

As far as OTC things are concerned, you might try 1.5g of agmatine and 1.5g of taurine a few times a day, along with some black seed oil capsules.

But id recommend buying them online (like on amazon) rather than GNC (who might not carry them).

Kratom might help too if its a short period of time, but becareful to avoid extended use/addiction.

The last resort would be something like phenibut, but I would avoid this if possible unless its only for a very short period of time. Still, its best to avoid phenibut whenever possible.

I am on 800mg tabs 4 times daily. However, I almost always just take all 4 of them at once when I go to bed at night. Thanks I will check out the supplements you listed. I appreciate it. And is Phenibut even available in the USA?

Also what about the supplement GABA that you can get on amazon? Anyone know anything about that?

Can 900mg a day of gabapentin cause withdrawals?
For some yes for some no. Strange to me but used to strange.
For those who fall under yes it would depend how long they were on it and possible other factors how severe the WDs may or may not be.
Just poppin from experiences.
Peace

I’ve had more than one doctor tell that they’re no withdrawals associated with stopping gabapentin other than the possible risk of seizures. But I’ve known people that have had very uncomfortable symptoms after stopping Gabapentin cold turkey.

I am scared of physically being dependent on gabapentin. I have plenty, I just don't need another, um issue. Lol
Try taking a week off then, and see how you feel. I'd expect it to cause some amount of a habit, but i don't really know how long you have been using, and how your body currently reacts to drugs.

The doctors say the same thing to people on 4 times as much or more than me. They are full of shit.

GNC is a store that sells all kinds of supplements and stuff like that

If they have Phenibut (not sure on it's legal status wherever you are) that is a Gabapentinoid (so in the same family of drugs as Gabapentin and Pregabalin)...but I can't see anything else working.

How early will you run out? 'Cause withdrawal isn't always SUPER fast with Gabapentin, like with opioids. It can take anywhere from 12 hours up to 7 days to begin (although I find 24-36 hours after my last dose, I'm feeling it).
IME (I take around 3000mg/day) you don't get a lot of withdrawal symptoms, I just tend to get this moderate anxiety. Not to the point where I'm gonna have a panic attack or need to go to the emergency room, just enough to be really uncomfortable.

If you take the Gabapentin for any type of seizure disorder, your risk of having a seizure will significantly increase during this time.
